I'd say console game reviews seem to be more forgiving apparently, but maybe console a pc game scores should not mix, we've seen reviewers don't tend to think alike, maybe only on the basic review points but after that they don't
 
It doesn't matter, some people have different views on the games. Although my friend is a little retarded and doesn't believe me when I tell him Bungie did not create bump mapping... if any Halo 2 people do post on this site, they don't much idea of what they are talking about when comparing to a PC game.

No, the key word is dissapointing. That means it didn't live up to all the expectations, not that the campaign itself is bad.
 
I am buying an XBOX with H2 next week, and then I'll play Half-Life 2 the next week.

It should be the best gaming period in my life!
 
its pretty sad how halo got a 9.4 on gamespot, when san andreas got 9.6 ! PWNED!

i just want to play HL2...I'm friggin dreamin about it now and can barely concentrate at school or work! halo 2 will temporarily distract me, hopefully for a week and then...pure bliss... :)


but, there is one thing about H2 that bugs me. THE CONTROLLER! i cannot stand using any console controller for an FPS. no matter how hard they try to smooth out the controls, they will never be as fluid as a PC game. that is the one big thing that i can't stand about Halo 2.

I can't stand controllers for FPS games either. I have to have my keyboard and mouse, and I'll be pwning. But when it comes down to two thumbsticks, I have a hard time aiming...

Just takes a little practise :)

There's pros and cons for both joypad and mouse and keyboard control in a fps - neither being superior imo, just more suited to different occasions.
 
I can do things like GTA with controllers though...Third person games on consoles are the best IMO...
 
In what way is Halo 2 better? There isnt anything there which can even take Halo 2 beyond that of Unreal Tournament 2004...

Half-Life 2's Physics engine alone is ground breaking and the duration of the gameplay is also longer than that of Halo 2... Halo 2 is designed majorly for the X Box, totaly taking it out of competition for graphics and even with Xbox live theres not even a chance of matching its online capabilities, aswell as the size of the mod making cumminity.

So far from playing Halo 2 I havnt noticed one thing which impresses beyond Halo 1, or even UT2004.

Comparing Halo 2 to Half Life 2 just isnt worth it, it simply doesnt even come close to matching it. The reason for its high review scores is that Halo one was very popular, as it was one of the few decent games on the Xbox, and lots of fan dans started blowing it out of proportion, you know the type, they say thing such as .. Xbox is much more powerful than any PC and the graphics are better... etc etc lol Those are the people gamespy and the likes are aiming towards the younger kids. And i wouldnt be suprised if dare i say it, Halo 2 out sells Half Life 2, because alot more parents will rush to the shops and buy it for there 10 year old fan dan than those who will rush to the shop and buy Half Life 2...

Halo 2 hasnt got a done anything new is just a 13 year old and belows UT2004

Bottom line is, 1st persons simply do not work on consoles... (bar goldeneye on the 64 :))
 
I simply think HL2 will be alot better game than Halo 2. They will both be great games but HL2 will pull the win easily.
 
Halo 2 looks like it just has the same graphics to me...Its like Halo 1, but with a different storyline....

think of bands like led zepplin, aerosmith, u2, metallica, now i know that some people may not like some of these bands but im sure most would agree that they make better music than say, britney spears or some gayass rapper,
and yet look at the most popular music of today, i think youll see that crap pop and sh1te rap are up there.

My point is, most people are morons and dont know what the shit they're on about, so being more popular does not make something better (george w bush, anyone?)

the only stupid reason why halo is currently winning with a higher avarage is because of the mags that rate like 5/5..instead of giving it a mark one to ten , because a 4/5 will mean an 8.
and 5/5 means 10.

there are no values in between of that. they should make an international ranking system... this is misleading..
go half life 2:D

Magazines like PCGamer will never, ever award 100%'s unlike most console magazines which don't have 1-10 scales scaling from crap to perfect, but crap to "best representation of the genre on the console."

Halo 2 is the "best representation of the genre on the console" so it's getting 10's, but it's far from perfect. Many reviewers have said this, there are many flaws in Halo 2.. but it's the best game on the XBox. Halo 2 has nothing to do with the PC, and neither do the scores.

I really hate fanboys almost as much as terrorists, anyone who says Halo 2 or Halflife2 sucks is a moron, they are both great games that you shouldn't miss out on, im getting them both
