To Upgrade or Not to Upgrade....?

On the eve of many games that demand a better oprating system, i'm just wondering if i should start to upgrade now or i should hold onto it until my system just about dies and hopefully the hardware then won't be as dear

AMD Atholon XP 2600+ @2.08gHz
ASUS A7N8X-X Motherboard
Generic 512Mb DDR PC2700
ASUS X800 Pro/TVD 256MB DDR

Well the only thing to upgrade is your ram, which should be 2X512MB 3200 to go with a X800.

Like lazicsavo said...you're joking right? Seriously, your system rocks. The only thing that I would change would be the ram. You'll want a gig of ram with most of the upcoming games. -heapsize 256000...helps performance a ton. You shouldn't bother getting 3200 Ram unless you're planning on OC'ing you proc. The 2600+ only has a 333FSB.

I'm sorry but you can only buy a new system.

I suggest AMD Athlon64 5500+, 4x1024MB Corsair DDR3+X2, ASUS X666YT-3 Motherboard X-treme and either a nVidia 8550HE (Heavy Edition) or an ATI Radeon xx4800 DDR3-BR (Boosted Ram) 1024MB

If that's not around your budget then I suggest you hang yourself cuz HL2 is out of the question.

Hey but it might not always work this is how it goes. If you think your PSU is not enouhg tFIRST TRY it like i did and it worked....THEN run many many tests 3dmark 2003 4 times far cry for 1 hour and some CS if it makes it and no heating issiue your on your way to your dreams LOL
