Whenever one listens to music from Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, Creedence, the Doors, etc., it is pretty common to think Vietnam War... so I was thinking, what would be songs that would fit operation iraqi freedom?

Raining Blood - Slayer

i hate the band, but i reckon this is appropriate

The Government Totally Sucks - Tenacious D

amiright?

It's kind of hard as back in those days, bands made music about the war, now-a-days not so much (for some reason, oh maybe it's because they don't want to get ass-raped by the entire nation of America in lawsuits)

As far as like 'party' type of songs (like you see them blaring the music from helicopter in old Vietnam vids like Wild thing and such), I'd say the band Airbourne does that well (I can see a troop playing that in a tank or something)

There really isn't any good pop music (used in a loose sense) anymore. Music now of days doesn't cross genre's as it could back then. So its not really that easy to come up with some modern war/anti-war songs.

This thread has given me a strong urge to rent "Apocalypse Now" again.

Gregorian Chanting, because Liberating Iraq is a lot like spreading the word of God in the middle ages.

Mortal Kombat theme.

I agree with Lucid. That song is in 75% of all the vids made by soldiers that are on LiveLeak and YouTube.
