This was just put up tonight and I immediately downloaded the hi res videos. This game looks amazing. The firefights look and sound authentic. Great visuals and great gameplay; looks like you can't go wrong with this one. Check it out here: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/tomclancysghostrecon3/news.html?sid=6144191

MAKE SURE YOU VIEW THE VIDEOS!!

Videos 6, 8, and 9 are the best. FYI.

I'll be buying this when it comes out. :)

Enjoy!

definently choosing this for my first [xb360] game.

This coming out for PC the same day?

The game looks fun but I'm not crazy about the MEGA-informative hud. I don't need to see red diamonds all over the screen to tell me there's enemies around. I hope that's an option you can turn off.

EDIT: Not totally reliable...but Ebgames.com says it ships at the end of March for PC and the 7th for 360...is that right?

EDIT2: Also...any differences in the 360/PC versions?

I love it when games sneak up on me like this. I had seen the graphics in screens and just assumed it had a late 06 or TBA 06 release date :p

No doubt...Im getting this one, that video of when you man the chaingun is just sick.

Will probably pick this up for pc but will surely pick it up for 360.

Demo's coming out a week before the release of the game on X-Box Live Marketplace, not sure what the date is for PC demo, anyway <3.
Definitely getting both the PC and 360 vers of this.

Too bad the Tom Clancy franchise has been raped of what defined it as a tactical shooter in order to make titles for these lame consoles. If this was a PC exclusive I would for surely pick it up but since it is a cross platform I am extremeley hesitant.

Yeah, but it's not hte consoles fault, it's the devs...
I mean, I loved the XB ports of GR1, they were clean and simple and yet had decent controls, and nothing was really lost in conversion.
But hey, I don't think you should whine so ****ing much..
Instead of doing a direct port of the 360 games, the PC game is being developed independently and is as tactical as previous games afaik.:)
In other words also mate, it's not literally crossplatform, as the 360 vers is being developed by another group than the one that's doing the PC vers afaik.:D

All of those videos are in 3rd person. Will it be possible to switch to 1st person view do you know ? Regardless though, looks impressive, i may have to get this

:)

Edit: nm on 1st person question, is answered in one of the threads lower down.

Now that's a game.
That looks incredibly fun to play... the AI squad mates seem really smart, likewise with enemies.

Definitely getting this when it comes to PC... and once I get new computer :D

Yeah, the PC game comes out at the end of the month for whatever reason.

See below...

In GRAW PC we developed a complete ballistics system. The objective is to make all weapons as realistic as possible, including load weight, firing dispersion, recoil impacts etc...

This leads me to believe that the ballistics system for the 360 version isn't all that it could be.

There's also this:

First off, content art, sound, technology and gameplay is entirely unique for the PC version. The entire PC version is made exclusively for the PC, and stand alone from the console versions in terms of gameplay. I'll go a bit further on this: First off: The tactical layer of the PC game is much more advanced than the console approach. We have a real time 3d view of the battle field where you as a squad leader can see the action and plan it real time. This to be able to set up the best tactical approach as the combat and pre-combat changes. Adding to this we have individual control of 3 team mates and other support troops. This to design complex flanking and attacking patterns both on the fly and through your tactical interface. It is really a tactical sim as you never have seen before on any format. Next we have a exclusively designed control on the PC that makes the player immersed in the body of Captain M. We are able to control him with great accuracy for both stealth, position in covers and shooting positions. This is what we call the advanced leaning system which allows 8 way leaning, sliding and even diving into cover.

And yes, the PC version will be 1st-person only.

That looks awesome! Might get the PC version.

Fantastic news, glad to hear the pc version isn't dumbed down because the consolers don't want such a challenging or thought invoking game.
stop generalising.

people could easily say pc gamers are 13 year olds kids with mics who whore fps games like cs, and need help with anger issues.

if rogue spear or one of the first games was on a console, the controls would limit the speed and ability to plan one of the missions and consoles generally are just a 'quick fun gaming fix' while pc games can be alot more immersive.

so hyped for this game now. : o

Exactly, due to the problems with the controllers and the problems with console users only really wanting a quick game rather then an overly complex game, the console version has to be simplified down from the pc version. Unfortunately, this is what happened with Deus Ex 2, both versions were cut down to the standard of the Xbox version which was sub par compared to what the pc version should have been.
