In the coming century or centuries (more likely), Earth could become too hot for humans [and other mammals], even soaking wet, in the shade, with a fan on you.

Air conditioners would be required to survive. This puts the poor and 3rd world people in a situation they won't survive.
The results of the study are detailed in the May 6 issue of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Welp good thing we'll be dead by then!

you'll be dead, but my head will be alive in the science museum of natural history, where people can ask me frivolous questions like, "where did you eat, where did you sleep, was your mom hot? how much did it cost for a video game?" etc

Canada better get itself a military by then

Articles like this are the reason so many people object to climate change. It comes off as very alarmist even though it may be credible.

It's just the fifth of May and over here we've already got a scorching sun, and summer temperatures... So yeah it's believable.

Except you know that there are more assumptions and simplifications than known variables and processes going into that calculation. Trying to predict climate change from the ground up using mathematical modelling is a next to impossible task. There are literally millions of variables with billions of interactions. Any prediction of specific temperatures and humidity levels is going to be a gross simplification and most likely wrong. It really requires an experimental approach.

Yeah they saw the Earth is heating up but I think it is all over-stressed, I mean the UK just had its coldest winter ever or something and while we had some good weather at the end of April and early May, we are now starting to get the dullness, and I can sense a lot of rain on its way.

The problem is in how greenhouse gases trap heat in our atmosphere. They trap heat in, and with too much of these gases, the heat builds indefinitely. Temperature will simply continue to increase until something changes in the atmosphere.

Maybe if we burn a hole in the ozone layer, the heat will be able to get out.

Global warming

Exactly. And the result of global warming, climate change, or whatever you want to call it, is that everything is magnified. Colder winters, hotter summers, more violent storms, etc.

Well, more that it doesn't have to be uniform, and changed weather patterns due to higher global average temperature can easily lead to unexpected cold at various times and places.

The ozone layer doesn't reflect sunlight, the only thing burning a hole in it will achieve is population culling by cancer (it blocks UV rays.)

I think he was being saracastic lol

This.

The likely reason the UK is so cold is that more polar ice cap is getting dumped into the heating current from the Gulf of Mexico that keeps Europe warm.
