Any Tool fans here?

I, for one, am a huge fan... :D

I am also a massive Tool fan.

It would seem you and I have fairly similar tastes in music. Tool was my big obsession before NIN.

wait, you are a massive fan of Tool, or a fan of massive tools?
But seriously, I love Tool. They're absolutely great.

oh gee didn't see that coming :D

Tool's amazing.

I was a pretty big Tool fan a few years ago. Still give them a listen every once in a while.

NIN came before Tool, for me.

And yea, we have a lot in common, I'm seeing.
:P

I weep for the Tapeworm project. NIN and Tool... oh what happened?

My taste in NIN stuck though. Tool petered out.

I also think they're overrated. That doesn't mean they're bad though, because they're good.

I also don't understand why people rate Aenima higher than Undertow... hmm.

I personally thought Aenima was better than Undertow and Lateralus.

Oh ****, I just knocked over my bong water.

i am a Tool fan as well :)
and of course as some of u, i was/am a NiN fan before Tool came around.
i didn't want Maynard to leave NiN but yeah..well im over that now and i see it as another good band to listen to :)

yes he was.
early NiN.
hmm...maybe he wasn't a "member" but i know hes done some work with Trent on NiN albums.

I'm not aware of any such involvement. Only the failed Tapeworm project.

Tewl sux lolz!1
They kick ass, Prison Sex, Parabola, Lateralus, and Stinkfist are my favorite songs by them

Tool wins. I love them for being one of those ''something new to listen to everytime you hear this album/song bands'', like The Mars Volta. They pull off a good Pink Floyd too in terms of being able to have to understand them more than just listen to the music and nod your head.

They need to hurry up with the new album. UK tour please.

I couldnt agree more.

I ****ING LOVE TOOL!!

What do you reckon is their best album? Methinks Lateralus

Apparently their new album is like King Crimson meets Meshuggah. Sounds interesting.

I dunno. I love Laturalus, but I think Undertow does it for me. That, or Aenima. I don't know.

Yeah, they toured with Meshuggah I think, and the 'heaviness' wore off on them. Or something like that, read it in an article sometime.

I actually like the simplicity of their riffs. It suits their music well and makes it seem more primal.

I got into them recently and really liked the sound of their stuff. I herd 46 and 2 and was like, hmm, wh0o the hell is this? Now i have al their albums

Yea, same feelings here.

They take their time with the songs, which is nice because some songs are over way too quickly. But with Tool, they just keep going.. :D

I weep for Tapeworm also. That would have been undescribably leet.

Tool's music is amazing because of the relative simplicity of most of the main guitar riffs (IE I can play most of them and I'm absolutely horrid at guitar), but when you listen there's so much more to hear. They've got some of the best musical synergy of any artists today.

Also, Aenima and Third Eye ftw.

Fav songs:
Opiate - Opiate
Undertow - Intolerance, Sober, Undertow
Aenima - Stinkfist, H., 46 & 2, Hooker with a Penis, Pushit, Aenema, Third Eye
Lateralus - The Grudge, Lateralus, Disposition, Reflection
Don't have Salival :(

Toss up between Undertow, Aenima, and Lateralus as best album. I'm leaning towards Aenima, but they're all sonically different so it's really hard to say. Undertow's good but more heavy rock stuff, Aenima feels very experimental and somewhat trippy (I get very into H. and Third Eye), and Lateralus is much more artistic (the three songs Lateralus, Disposition, and Reflection are absolutely incredible, they were originally one long song but they decided to cut them up) and progressive.

Eagerly awaiting the new release.
