anybody here a fan of tool? i've been listening to their music for a long time now and its the one band that no matter how many times i listen to their songs, i never get bored of them.
After reading the lyrics, Maynard is quite the talented writer cause they apply to so many things. Maybe i just like them cause i'm so negative.

I'd recommend listening to Eulogy or Stinkfist if u haven't heard them b4

Some of my friends really like them, but they've never really... done it for me.
I know it's a good band, and I don't mind listening to them, but I just can't get into their music as much as many people do.

Sheep should die. :farmer: . So anyways, 40, 46 & 2, prison sex, jimmy, hooker with a *wang*, pretty much all of the tool songs kick ass. I just hate those losers who listen to Enema and think "OMG TOOL ROXORS!! LOL!1!!!!1!!". And then they buy the shirts and what not. Pathetic. Maynard really goes in deep on the Enima CD. Third Eye of course is almost the best song (and the longest).

i used to be one of those guys who just listened to aenema lol, but yeah prison sex, 46 & 2, Jimmy, hooker with a penis, H, sweat, 4 degrees, stinkfist, undertow, lateralus, sober... just to name a few of the songs of theirs i love, plus maynard has A Perfect Circle goin and their newest album is pretty sweet too

i hear tool is comin out with a new album aswell

Danny Carey, their drummer, is godly.

Good band. I love their stuff.

Yeah, listening to Danny play you would swear he has at least four arms and an extra leg.
Apart from Radiohead, Tool is the only band still active that I have any respect for (and A Perfect Circle I guess).

I'm a fan, my favorite is that song about LA (forgot the title) - learn to swim!

Tool is great but one person i know quite well lives their life by the word of tool. sorta scary

I guess that would depend on how he interpereted the word of Tool.
And which word he was living his life by :p

Ænima, from the album also called Ænima

This is actually a common misconception.

The song isn't called Ænima, it's called Ænema with an e (the album is still called Ænima). If it says Ænima on the back of your CD, then congrats, you have a very rare copy with a spelling mistake. :) Funnily enough, the first few copys of Lateralus had the title track named "Lateralis", which was a spelling error once again, just the other way around. :D

Danny Carey is your god, by the way. I got bored of them after a while though. They said they won't be releasing anything new until at least 2005/2006, so I'm just gonna let my CDs collect dust until then.

Ha, broke up? Where'd you hear that? :) Maynard was just too busy with A Perfect Circle to bother with the rest of the band. :)

I read several months ago that a new Tool album was coming out this summer. I hope it does come out. It usually takes them 5 years between albums.

Yes, yes it is. Actually my name on most other forums and on Steam is Third Eye.
And I can't remember but I think Pushit might be around as long or a little longer than Third Eye. I know the live version is damn long. I actually have been listening to Ænema alot lately, but I started with Lateralus. Both are just really amazing. And if you like Tool you should really love APC too. Just a whole bunch more of Maynard's amazing voice.
I can't wait for their new cd that they're working on right now. Its gonna be amazing.

And I really want to hear what ever the hell it was that Danny was doing with Les Claypool and the guy from King Krimson. That just has to be mind blowing.

And oh yeah, Ticks & Leeches has THE MOST amazing drumming I have ever herd in my life. If you seriously listen to it, its just unbeliveable.

And oh yeah once more... You guys need to find some of the live version of Triad. There are a bunch out there that have just little variations that all just give me chills.

Pushit is around 9 and a half minutes long, while Third Eye easily pushes 13 minutes.

I know how you feel man, it seems like the thing to do now is buy a Tool shirt from Hot Topic.

Stinkfist, Eulogy, Lateralus, Aenima (the song, not the album Aenema), Third Eye (the best song ever created), Hooker with a Penis, so many more.

 to all tool fans!

Oh yeah, any Rage fans - thats Maynard on track 6 of their first album, Rage Against the Machine. The song is called Know Your Enemy and in that part where the other person (not zach de la rocha) sings "I got no patience now / so sick of complacence now"... thats Maynard!
