In the Uk tomorrow a program will be aired listing the top 100 albums. I have no idea which will be voted the top any ideas?

I thought this was going to be a thread about posting 100 of your top albums. I would've gone to 50 then... meh.

I suspect alot of shite albums will be in that list. Anything that made it remotly big but isn't the artists best work (Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid', Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side...' etc) and of course, we can't forget the Nirvana albums which were OH SO awesome olololol!!!¬

No thanks.

Cool, what channel is it on? I'm guessing 4.

I bet Pearl Jam - Ten, or Alice in Chains - Dirt won't even get a look in. It'll be the commercial top 100 to please the general public.

But Nirvana does deserve to be there...

I'm guessing
1. Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
2. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin 4
3. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
4. Michael Jackson - Thriller
5. Beatles - Revolver

Or something like that.

Not a single extreme metal release in the bunch, I'll warrant. Having a show about the 100 best albums is like having a show about the 12 best poems - totally narrow, completely subjective, and bound to be fairly uninformed and worthless.

Hahaaa, Black Sabbath - Paranoid is on the screen right now. Number 40 I think. Nice shout.

How can "Coldplay - Parachutes" be inluded but "Pearl Jam - Ten" not. That's the problem with public-voted charts - most of the public are idiots.

Yeap they are, but im a bit of a music nazi so I can't tell

1:radiohead-ok computer
2:u2-joshua tree
3:nirvana-nevermind
4:m.jackson-thriller
5:the beatles-sergeant pepper(i think)

thats the top5

By no.60 I got sick of even having it on in the background and had to turn it off.

Die Thread DIIIEEEE

Whoops, sorry....agreed, DIEDIEDIEEEEE

I think Channel 4 did the Hall of Fame thing aswell. They ruined that too.

Now they're trying to tell me that Radiohead - OK Computer is the best album in the entire history of the world. It's good, but it's not the best.

Die Channel 4.

Sorry for starting this shite thread I'll go and commit harry carry immediately

So that's the actual top 5? Man, that's the most hilarious thing I've ever seen

Remember Channel 4 didnt choose who went where, it was the people who voted on their site. So its just the majority of peoples opinions.

I can't believe Re You Experienced got picked but Electric Ladyland didn't... What!?

It'd be better if they asked industry professionals what their top albums were then made a top 100 from that.

I dunno - it'd be really pretentious then, and besides there weren't any really dreadfully bad albums in there like Steps or the Spice Girls or whatever

Im happy with the results, even if they were unexpected. Led Zeppelin 4 at no.18 was a bit crappy though, but I do love Radiohead. Although Kid A was a better album than OK Computer....
