Well, this was a fun morning. I wake up at 7:10 AM to heavy wind and thunder. Windows were all open, so it was a "When is it going to rain". Then it hit, INSTANTLY sheets of rain. I made a scramble to close the windows and then drove home. You could see the sheets of rain coming down. Was quite awesome.

Get home, fall back asleep before work...power goes out. Shit. Tornado sirens go off. I'm in a Valley, and really don't think I have a single safe part of my house. So what do I do? Get my camera and walk around. Trees are already uprooted, laying next to cars and in the road. Power lines dangling *though not ripped off yet, thankfully.*

I decided to record the video of the ride to work. Nothing exciting, but trees/limbs were everywhere. Pictures and video to come at a later time today.

Were there 200 sheets per pack?

But it *DIDN'T* rip through Joplin?

Nah, just outside of it. Pretty clean miss, too. One of my coworkers got blasted with it. Good thing he made it to the shelter!

well, i'm almost sorry for you

According to Mike Palmer, vice president of commercial operations, about 60,000 customers are without power and damage assessment is still being done as the storm moves out of the east end of the service area.

According to the National Weather Service, winds gusting up to 85 mph ripped through the area early today.
Yay, no power coming to me today, I'd assume.

PICTURES!

Mind you, shitty cell phone pictures.

That's no tornado! Just high wind!

I'm at work :) My offices are located right above a bank, so we have generators in case the power fails. But it's also right on Main Street, so their power never went down for long.

If there's no power there tonight, I'm just going to stay here at work. Maybe order some pizza and go nuts. lol.

Buffalo got rocked by an ice storm and we had similar occurrences. Also my car barely made it past a massive tree that crashed while I was driving home from work. I also had to drag a huge banch out of the road just to get home.

Everyone at least lost power and some wasn't restored for 2 full weeks after the storm. And a lot of places looked like this:

Wow. Us Brits don't get nothin' like this.

Yeah, we got this during the winter. I'm glad we're done with ice storms. It's been systematic for two years now. We'll get hit by some huge ice storm and be out of power for 1-2 weeks *that's me, other people had been out of power for almost a full month.*

Mother Nature hates us! lol

Dude, I live in Tennessee and the tornado sirens honestly were going off just liek an hour ago. I was playing xbox. :/ Rain and thunder assisted the siren in pissing my dad off. >:l

Yup, same storm. It's an asshole!

Sirens went off like three times. We had tornado warnings but the most that happened were funnel clouds.
