Anyone got one of these HDTV's? i've heard theres terrible banding (if you look at the sky in Ace Combat 6, it looks like many different shades of blue in bands)

Im going to be using it soley for xbox 360

I'm generally skittish when it comes to spending large sums of money. Even a known brand like Toshiba causes me to be skeptical when I'm about to spend $1,200 USD or more.

I currently have a Samsung LNT-3253 and love it. I'm currently in the process of deciding to get either a Pioneer 4280HD or a Panasonic TH-42PX80U.

Further off topic, I've vaguely considered using an HDTV to be a Home Theater PC, but still haven't been sold on the idea to be honest. I still like my Dell 20 inch widescreen flat panel to much.

How sharp is the picture in your Samsung?

Picture is pretty good. If you look around you can get it for 650USD which is a smoking deal imo for the quality you get. Though it is definitely not top of the line when you consider other HDTV's available.
