To all fans of the 2 movies and 6 seasons of the show, I have for you some news.

Yesterday I went to a bar to see Randy and Mr. Lahey perform LIVE in character.

First I want to say, it was absolutely hilarious. They had a gut measuring contest with the audience, cheeseburger eating contest, trivia (with prizes), they did skits, most of it seemed to be improv (VERY funny improv). In short, it was freakin hilarious! A very very good night for me to see them live, they were ace.

The thing I wanted to say though, was that Lahey said said they are filming ANOTHER SEASON OF TPB AND THEY ARE STARTING FILMING OF A MOVIE IN SUMMER. I think they are filming to movie NEXT summer, though, although I wasn't too sure. Since this summer already started I think he meant next summer. I could be wrong, though. He just said 'we are filming a new movie in summer'

On a side note, Randy's gut is just as big in person as it is on the show, and Lahey is shorter in person.

It was a funny act because people kept buying them drinks and giving it to them on stage so by the end, Lahey was smashed (I don't know if he was acting drunk for the show or if he was actually drunk, but he is a convincing actor either way). There was this one guy there in the crowd who kept screaming 'F*CK YOU LAHEY!' and stuff like that, then they kept making fun of him (in their characters, which takes talent), and by the end they made him shut right up by telling to to f*ck himself and stuff. He even bought them shots a few times, too. They drank it during the show. It was hilarious.

I can't wait! I thought they were finished the show, but I guess they are taking a break! ANOTHER SEASON AND ANOTHER MOVIE!! WOOHOO!!

Oh come on, I know I'm not the only one who watches the show...

(for reasons obvious only to rush fans and because it looks quite good, I would watch it, if we only had it over here in old blighty.)

I'm from Nova Scotia and of course I love The Trailer Park Boys sadly life in Nova Scotia is similar to their portrayal. Good to see they are still going, I thought there was an upcoming spin-off as well but I could be wrong.

If you're a fan of Rush you'll LOVE (like me) the episode called 'Closer to the Heart', season 3

Check it out now Rush fan!

It's my favorite episode, I'll only tell you one thing - Alex Lifeson himself stars in it.

Sorry for bumping up this old thread but more people need to know about this show.

I can't believe how criminally underrated this show is. It barely got any airtime here in the States , if at all. I didn't think that i would enjoy it at first but i quickly realized how wrong i was and just how awesomely hilarious this show is. I became an instant fan and i went through the entire series in the matter of days. Including the movies. If you are a fan of mockumentaries such as This is Spinal Tap, Arrested Development, Reno 911 and shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm than this shall not disappoint you.

OMFG another season?! That's the best news I've heard in ****ing years.

My friend got me into TPB a couple years ago but I only watched the first season... recently I revisited it and watched all six seasons + the movies and TV specials and I love the show (and characters) more than life itself. I was so sad when I finished it all, this is a dream come true :D

Nobody I know here in the US has even heard of it, except for people my handful of friends and I who watch it have told. Excellent.

one of the few canadian shows I'm not embarrassed that it's canadian .....in fact it's the only show that I'm not embarrassed to say is canadian

also if you havent seen it you really should. it's unlike anything else on tv. the only comparison I can think of is seinfeld; only in the sense that none of the main characters have any redeeming quality what so ever; they're all pieces of shit but that's what makes it funny

also; Ennui sorry but look at the date in the OP. there is no new season

"In November 2009, Wells, Tremblay and Smith announced that they will be starring in a new television series for Showcase called The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour, set to air in November 2010. The series has been given an order of six episodes. The actors will also serve as writers and executive producers for the series.[10] Alex Lifeson of Rush will also be a regular on the show."

it's sketch comedy. no new trailerpark boys any time soon

Ricky might be one of my favorite characters of all time, in any medium.

It's absolutely obscure in the states though... I think you can watch it on some high-level cable directTV channel, besides that it's never been on American cable. I find that pretty weird given how popular and well-known it is in Canada, but I guess maybe it's too raunchy for US audiences.

it's on basic cable in canada. I remember showing TPB to one of our right wing american members of old (Hapless I think) and he was amazed that the show wasnt censored in canada

I feel ashamed for not watching it sooner. It's been brought up in a couple of conversations that i have had over the years but i never really bothered to check it out until recently. I fell in love with it almost instantly. The characters alone made a lasting impression on me. John Dunsworth aka Jim Lahey should received an Oscar or something for his acting and physical humor. His shit analogies had always brighten my day. I just don't understand why this didn't get the exposure it deserved. I guess all great shows are doomed to be cult classics.
