but you arrive on a train. its weird that more trains are leaving, you would think that everyone is stuck in city-17.

Maybe.... noone wants to be in city17 while 'they' say its a safe place

So, we know now there are many Cities out there. Dr.Breen said that His favorite city is NO.17................hmmm does that mean something is really special about it. Maybe More Secure.........

Destination: death camps or the goulag.

I have a feeling he says that in EVERY city. Automated/recorded message probably.

well when you are going into the interagation room and you peer into the other room the mans saying "whats this all about, i have a relocation coupon like everyone else" whats that all about.

Maybe he means the trains are always departing City17, but never arriving in their destinations.

*Cue twilight-zone music! doo doo doo doo....

"Were you the only ones on that train?"

I think he also said that its hard to get out of there because the departing trains are always full.

Maybe he was just hopped up on goofballs and people depart all the time

Any Idea what they are safe from? I'm guessing theres a struggle for dominance between aliens and combine, and people are being used as slave labour

Come on people, get real. There's a limited amount of texture memory they can use. Would you rather see a complete train schedule for the next year than highly detailed characters?

I'm guess the trains are full going to the deathcamps

that whole thing reminded me of the holocaust camps (well, moving people into the ghettos, then moving them to the camps via cattle cars)

least that what it seems to be what is happening

It's just a big mysterious mystery. Who knows why the train schedules lie? Mabe we'll find out when we play it.

I don't buy deathcamps at all, they would just drop an alien flu on earth and get rid of all the humans that way.

the dude on the tv screen says "i liked c17 so much i established my administration here". So the seat of power rests in C17 :naughty:

Maybe its a quarantine because they are all sick/infected with wierd diseases

That could explain why the combine have masks

Sorry Dr Breen sounds too much like Mr Bean to me, so his villianness goes down 76%.

I loved the whole train scene but what got my attention to is the Big Screen. When gordon looked at it it looked so clear, when gordon got closer to it, it started to get Pixelised . That is awsome.

Yeah that is pretty cool.

And the deathcamp thingy sounds pretty accurate, since everyone there is scared, and it seems like a ghetto, with everyone wearing the same kind of blue clothes, and with the propaganda at every corner.

Step 1. Walk into a train station

Step 2. Look at the information boards

Step 3. Notice that Arrivals and Departures are listed on separate boards

Step 4. Hit self over head with trout

I liked the 'Nova Prospekt' Sign near the checkpoint, nice touch of Eastern European scenery there. Didn't see any streets though. :)

(Prospekt= Street or Avenue)

Nazi germany! and yes.. the numbers with C infront are all city's. I read in an interview that one of the people in city 17 talked about city 13 so it must be.

maby they just got opened as other "safehavens".. you can see that the citadell is still under contruction so maby it has just begone.. the whole arival of the combine and the setup of the "safehavens" they call the "number cities" may explain why the trains are all full.. because the everyone got moved to city 17 so it got way to crammed up and now they are moving everyone to the newly set up city's.. I dunno

the only thing i cant explain is why they named City 17.. 17.. and not 0 or 1 if it would be the main one

I like the marble texture + specularity when Gordon get's off the train - before entering the big hall where he talks to people. The gritty and dirty floor looks very believeable.

I just hope they fix those stupid bugs - the one where the scanner lights up the whole train and no shadows of static objects like benches, stools, e.t.c.

It makes you wounder why the aliens are there in the first place. If City 17 is the most special.

I think that trains do not arrive in the other cities. They only depart from the other cities and bring citizens to City 17. The trains would come in full, and then leave empty.

City 17 = Monster Island

Errr hes looking at the departure board.. the arrival boards, the arrival board is probably elsewhere....

why does it say "TREN depart" has a mega corporating taken over all train activities and has changed the spelling?

the beginning to this game looks absolutely boss. i cant wait to play it.

I can't wait to harras the metrocops by throwing paper cups against them and run

I can already see myself, after having completed the game X number of times, starting the game over so I can spawn some weapons and REALLY irritate them. >:)

It may be he justifies the absence of ppl with ...departing trains.
