It's not nearly as bad as the strictly kiddified version they have now (Energon I think it's called).

The toys weren't as good as the car/plane transformers, but the show was definitely higher quality.

It almost outclasses the fact that it was initially just a big-ass toy commercial.

Looks more like the Utah salt flats to me.
Mars has an orange-pink sky, by the way.

That's the attention to detail and authenticity that Michael Bay specializes in. :p

Actually mars has a brownish colored surface and a blue, cloudless sky. NASA colorizes the images for the public, due to the fact that the original mars probes had damaged cameras that picked up too much red light. The planet only looks red from a distance, or when a dust storm covers it.

The lower photo actually appears to be hued towards blue and a little washed out. Mars is covered with rust and has no oceans and is protected by a very thin atmosphere. I don't see what Mars has to be blue about.

The on ewith the minicons and whatnot? I don't much like that one either, but Prime looks alright. At least he's not a damn primate.

While the conspiracy theory jury is still out on the Mars color images, the cited explanation by NASA is extremely technical but makes sense supposedly. Its likely that Mars's sky really does look much bluer than we're used to seeing.

"Scan from an original print of the initially released version of the first color picture from the surface of Mars. The intent was to show a gray sky, but the initial batch of prints were color balanced too blue."

"On earth, sometimes windy storms swirl dust into the air, making the sky a hazy tan. Similarly, Mars' atmosphere always contains a lot of dust, and its sky is permanently tan."
"If the Martian atmosphere were to be completely cleansed of dust, the daytime sky would appear blue, just as our own sky because of Rayleigh scattering by the molecules (primarily carbon dioxide molecules) which make up the atmosphere."
http://webexhibits.org/causesofcolor/14C.html

If CO2 makes up the majority of the atmosphere, the sky should appear pale (due to density) blue during a clear day, slightly tan in dusty areas, and pink at morning or dusk.

That was kind of stupid; the Beagle 2 was a lander, not a rover!
