How cool was trapdoor? it was the best telly programme ever!
has anybody else seen it?

yeppers, was brilliant, wish they'd show it at a more reasonable hour these days though, not everyone wants to wake up at that time in the morning to see it (or cba trying to record a couple of minutes) heh

Edit: scratch that.. just did a search and Trouble TV are showing it at better times now :D:D:D

yeah, my friend said he found a site where you can watch it on the internet. I cant find it though. (its probably illegal anyway  )

edit: damnit, i only have five channels, its never on.

berk not bert! :p

I used to watch that a lot. Although it used to scare the **** out of me because of the art style. I can't even remember what the episodes were about.

it was about this fat blob thing and he wasnt meant to open the trapdoor but he always did cos he was an arse.

Button moon... *shudders*

Knightmare was brilliant, I'd mention a kid from my old school was on it once but I think everyone in a school back then knew someone who'd been on it hehe.

You seen the new version of Knightmare? It's all 3D, only they didn't think to get a licence of a decent engine, so its a bit on the basic side heh. I think it kinda loses its charm though in its new version.

i saw that on challenge tv, but i dunno if it was the new or old one...

nobody can actually win it though, they always run out of time

Isnt it Bert/Burt?? And Im sure SOMEONES won Knightmare, didnt think someone would win Takeshi's Castle but they did.

And how can you shudder at Button Moon. :( It rocked. And the effects...man...

I just find the re-runs of Knightmare funny now, but when it was "high-tech" and impressive to me, I was addicted to it! Nowadays kids tv is so full of crap.

EDIT: Ok, it IS Berk, isnt that an insult of some kind?

the challenge tv ones are the original series (last time I watched it was anyway) you can win on it, a lot did, when time runs out it just stops for that weeks episode and continues on the next one.

Trapdoor! Button Moon! Knightmare!

Yes a lot of people won Knightmare.

I seem to remember everyone used to win, then everyone used to lose, in streaks.

In a kids show?? Guess no-one noticed

Hehe. Captain Pugwash (had characters Master Bates and Seaman Staines), and Rainbow where they played the "Let's get our twangers out and sing the Plucking song!"
-that's out there on the internets somewhere.

80s cartoons are so full of perverts it's unbelievable.

well the rainbow blue episode was a gag, it never aired.

But the rest I know exactly what you mean.. You just don't notice these things until your older. and it still goes on! kids TV today is probably worse, the things they get away with that you just KNOW shouldn't be in a kids show. But this is what happens when you don't pay artists enough money, they start to screw about ;)

I dont think anyone's used berk in its original meaning for a long time. Anyway, I imagine Cockney Rhyming Slang was a bit like saying heck instead of hell. The meaning was there but it seems ok when you dont use the actual word. I never quite understood the logic myself, but theres a lot of things I dont understand about other peoples logic.

I have recently got into rhyming slang, it's quite fun, and people look at you like you're a weirdo. My variety is definately not Cockney though (and quite possibly not rhyming).

Someone called Martin > Mart > Wal-Mart > Woolworth's > WOOLAHS! Hahahahaha...yeah, sure, you think I'm mad.

Something from the Viz (again):

Approximate quote:

"In the East End (of London) I recently witnessed a market dealer shouting at an old woman to "**** off you C**t".
It's amazing to see Cockney wit is still alive and well in these troubled times"

Speaking of kinda inapropriate things in kids shows. Just watching that Saturday morning thing on ITV and this girl, Holly (very very cute btw lol) was reading a letter to this silly scientist guy about him beating the competition.. and he replied with "I haven't beaten anyone off"... there was silence from the kids in the audience, but you could clearly hear the cameramen laughing lol.

Oh and did I say Holly looks really cute? :D

haha... coming in a bit late, i guess... but i used to watch that when i was a wee-liddle boy :D

and i got scared by the many eyes...... ;(
