Trapped in chapter Follow freeman

Well i found Barney and entered the big building. I just found 3 rebels and then im told i have to take out 3 generators. So i take out the first one and on to the second. I tried going through but i always die so i took this desk i found and before i took it inside to defend myself i accidentaly shot it and then the door closed and it wont open. so i took out this other generator and then came back to see if it was open but its not and i cant go in.the last autosave i have is like 1 chapter behind for some reason so im not gonna go through all that again. How do i pass this.

I'm pretty sure there's a way out anyway, HL2 has too much time on it's back to let this kind of a bug pass through unnoticed.

I can't tell with certainty without screenshots, but it sounds vaguely like you tripped the lasers in the room with the ceiling auto-turrets. Tip: you are not meant to do this. If you set off those autoturrets it is meant to be a fatal screwup, and so if you somehow survive it is going to cause serious problems. IIRC there is a button to turn them off once you get through that room, so make sure you have pushed it.

If I'm thinking of the right place, there is nothing you can do except reload that bit and make sure you do that bit properly (ie. without tripping any lasers).

lol it should autosave and an easier way to get on that area without starting over is to load the map through the console. im not sure what the map name is but you type 'map *mapname*' without the astericks(Ex. map d1_trainstation_03) thats what the map name will be like.

I just passed it. I got tired of looking so I looked how to activate the console and used noclip

Just got stuck here and made new thread. Sorry for not searching first, but can anyone tell me how to use the console to get past this glitch.

First enable the console from the advanced tab under options.
Open the console (default ~)
enable the cheats by typing: sv_cheats 1
toggle noclip on and off by typing: noclip
