tribes 2 for free soon

not like its a huge deal, but a few days ago i saw that fileplanet would be downloading T2 for free, and that it would also come out with the may issue of computer gaming weekly. ive only played it a few times hopefully ill be in for a surprise.

It is one of the best multiplayer games, I am suprised so few people play it. It is so well balanced and has way more depth then any other game/a learning curve that never ends. It is easy to learn and impossible to master. There is ALWAYS a new strategy, the clan I was in for that game was probably one of the best, we did get the number 1 spot on the most popular ladder.

I remember it. The endless combos you could pull with a jet-pack and disk launcher. Definitely a great game even by today's standards. It chucked out realism in favor of fun.

I liked playing some of the mods out there. The best part about them, they were mods you didn't really have to d/l much for. I think the one I played was called MM2 or something. There were some really cool weapons and awesome things you could do in that game.

and to think i spent money on this game when it came out.... i could of waited 3 years and gotten it for free....

They're also releasing Tribes 1 (250 man server anyone?), which is an added bonus.
Most of the Tribes community has moved onto things like Battlefield recently, but most of it will likely return for Vengeance. In the mean time Tribes II is definitly going to be worth it to download and get back in the ring for a while.

Man, sniping people on the vehicle pads was so much fun. Expecially when you got a buddy and took turns shooting first. If they spawned in anything but heavy armour, they were just fresh meat.......

....... did I just say that out-loud?

Oh, I mean. uh. he he, well, the vehcles rocked.


No seriously, Tribes 2 was great, the only problem was the weekly patches which altered the game quite a bit from the official release.
