I dont know if their are cameras but there are sentry guns and all that other fun stuff, plus a few vehicles and the graphics are gorgeous. The grappling gun is a bit difficult to use properly but its still cool.

Also the physics are cool as well because bodys now have ragdoll effects and whats cool is, if someone dies while their jetpack is still on, it will stay on and their dead body will fly all over the place :) But eventually it stops

I just started DLing. No waiting in line for me! :)
Anyways, 28 minutes left, W00T!!!!

I'm downloading now. Wait no I'm not I have to wait in that stupid line. But oh well I should have it done tonight. Looks like fun.

Never heard of it... Is that something that doesn't cost anything?

No it costs more then normall, but you get alot more, includeing the use of ign insider and stuff, its good.

I've got my key, does anyone know if there's a mirror though?

I'm struggling with Fileplanet ;(

I actually agree with you on this part...In my opinion the game is to "colorful".Like the maps don't seem like battlefields....just random locations like a beach or forest.
That's sort of the point with Tribes :)

The big flaw I see is that it say up to 32 players... That's pretty weak. But then again, its more focused on dueling that real combat... I would have prefered 64 though. Otherwise it seems pretty much like old T2. Actually I think I prefer T2, less shiznits and straight to the point :p

So, hows the performance on this thing ?

Does it load fast ?, smooth in-game ? :)

Baul.. 25 KB/s ?!

I will have this game in about 4 hours... Oh jeez.

Quite smooth on my 9700Pro/2400+ at average to high settings (most high), but I've only tried it out in my own game... Loads pretty fast too. It got very complicated menus though (information overload)... And a thing that annoys the crap out of me is that 3rd person view wont stay after you do various stuff (for example enter and exit a vehicle). Maybe that's a setting... somewhere... Among all the settings :p

The vocal coms are pretty fishy too, using the letters on the keyboard. Why is it so hard to make a mouse controlled menu? The narrowminded developing community continues to baffle me.

The default control keys aint exactly smooth either. 1 is primary weapon. 2 secondary. 3 tertiary. Fine. "ö" (swedish) is melee, way across the keyboard??? :dozey:

Hm, just tried my first online game... Either I'm spoiled or its just plain boring and annoying. Maybe I liked T2 just because it was first, but after BF and JO, Vengence is dull... Just alot of bouncing around, waiting for someone to get lucky with a 10m range explosive round when you got 10 health left. I thought the bullet weapons where bad in T2, but like this!? They are WORTHLESS!!! You cant hit crap with either your minigun, or even a turret! You have to lead like 5-10 cm in front of your target when they are 20 meter away.

This beta "demo" (it isnt a beta, it is really a demo, I dont understand why they dont release it as such) convinced me not to buy it in 20 minutes worth of gameplay.

I think that's a record for me :p

Sidenote: The only thing that might redeem it would be mods. Infinite (or 10x as long as now) jetpacks so one can have real air duels instead of bouncy bouncy 10m off the ground and usable bullet weapons that travels at sonic speed instead of sub-run speed could make it fun again for me.

i suck at tribes vengence beta so its hard for it to be fun. most of the weapons are stupid... but i guess the game is good for tribes veterans

I can confirm that it runs smooth, I'm on a 3000+ with a radeon 9700 with all on high. Being a tribes noob, I didn't even know there was a third person mode. Should try that sometime.

I think they used the keyboard vocal comm system becuase you can use it while still shooting or flying about. That's harder if you have to move your mouse to a comm menu.

For me the melee weapon is the `, which is the key next to the 1. You can remap the controls too afaik.

On a more general note, I thought it was allright. I like the grappling hook thing. Negative points for blah vehicle controls, they didn't feel right. It also seems to lack fast direct fire weapons, lots of indirect fire grenade and disc launching things but very little fast guns you can actually hit flying people with.

The games I played had some people in them saying it was dumbed down and unlike tribes etc. I never played the original tribes or tribes2, but this one is a lot like ut2004 + flying/skiing + classes. I don't know, need to play it some more.
