I've played the previous 2, and thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the combat system in the first one, but not so much for the second.

What makes this so exciting for me is it takes place in Hong Kong, which is where I live. You never get renowned games that take place in Hong Kong, and this is the first time I've seen a well publicised game center around Hong Kong. It surprises me that the series is so focused on the Asian culture (the first game was a Chinese American protagonist).

Though when it comes to a good cop/bad cop and undercover cop, Hong Kong movies do it best. This game was probably heavily influenced by Internal Affairs, which some of you would know was remade into "The Departed".

I really enjoy the style of the fighting. Definitely resembles Hong Kong cinema action classics.

looks like a competent enough alternative to GTA.

did the previous games come out on PC?

Shenmue 2 centered around Hong Kong and it was more well-publicized than this game.:p

Everytime they said its the first free roam game they know of set in Hong Kong I just shouted Shenmue 2 in my head :p

Does look like it could be fun though, I like the fighting. Needs a bit og work to make it a bit more fluid though. I'll keep an eye on this.

The previous 2 are on pc (I only play pc games).

This game combines free running and combat, which is almost the textbook script in traditional chinese martial arts movies. Thus, we could be expecting some pretty slick running and jumping type close quarter combat.

I have never heard of Shenmue 2, seems like a non-pc game.

First one was great until the last boss was a ****ing dragon. The second one was a rushed out bag of dicks, don't hold up much hope for this one being anything better.

The only real highlight of this series is stopping old grannies on the street and finding AK-47s in their purses. Also, street signs on the HUD as you approach intersections.

haha the first game had vampires, or something.

I quite liked the first game, but it's in a league below GTA's.

The thing that bothers me is the animations. True Crime: Streets of LA had mediocre animations and driving physics and from what I see here, this might also be the case with TC: HK.

Look at the table-slide animation. It looks so... weird.

There's no mystical stuff in this one, I swear! Entirely new developer.

I never really liked the previous two games. Although, the first did have its moments.

This does look interesting though. The combat at least. It seems fluid and i like the fact that you can use a lot of the environment to take down the enemies.

I'd need more gameplay footage before i could make a judgment.
