Twilight Princess, the best game ever made?

I have been reading a hell of a lot of reviews recently about Twilight Princess and nearly everyone I have read has boiled down to it been simply amazing. Many review websites have said it is definatly one of the best games ever made.

What do you guys think? I wonder if one game could lead the Wii to a super sucess rather than a sucess it already is. I can't wait to find out how many copys of the game get sold worldwide. Ohhhh I live in the EU so I have to wait until the 8th until release.

None of the zelda games have ever come even close to the greatness that is planescape torment. I doubt this one will.

Honestly: it isn't.

It's very, very good, but it's not the holiday blockbuster I thought it'd be. Maybe I need to get farther in the game to realize its true greatness.

it is a great game but i can think of 5 or so games (all pc games) that are better than zelda. Compared to windwaker though twilight princess is leagues better (windwaker wasnt bad but TP is just that much better).

The games i really think will set the wii as a must buy system are smash bros brawl and a new mario kart (how could they not make a new one for the wii???).

I'd say the best game ever is either Warcraft II, DOOM, Lemmings, Half Life, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Deus Ex or Thief.

Should start a thread with specific game categories, like best rts game.

Starcraft was a very emotional game. I hate you Kerrigan. It's one of those games where you feel like you've got a personal vendetta to make things right. Kinda like Max Payne.

I've always wanted Raynor to kill Kerrigan.
The next Starcraft, the Zerg need to invade Earth and end with some phenomenal way of Raynor killing her.

Earth is but a minor planet that only the UED care about... Although I do absolutely hate the UED and there fleet did get pwned..... as long as it's on the Zerg Campaign and then in the middle they switch focus to something more with the Hybrids rathern than Earth. And the Zerg Campaign is first.

Also Zeratul should pwn Duran. "**** you i'm not a young prodgial!!! Screw your hybrids to!!!!" Then the UT2004 voice should shout out "MMMMOONNNSTERRR KILL!!!

'One' of the best games ever made, not the best. But ONE of the best. Also, with a game that is so refined and well told I was wondering what everyone had to say about it 'not' been 'one' of the best games ever made. I know games choice is down to personal opinion. But think about what makes a game good and not what floats your boat

Anyhoo - I rate OoT and lttp as up there with the best games ever made. If recent reviews are to be trusted, i'll probably feel the same about TP.

Half-Life 2 for instance is suported by a lot of the forum members as the no.1 game. For them it might be but overall its very far off.

The story is not so solid and sometimes noexistant. The characters are pritty good visually but none of them really have anything extra to them that a normal person wouldn't. The levels are unpolished and badly designed. You will get to a point where the level looks amazing. But the travel from point A to B is very disapointing visually. Half-Life 2 lacks any true visual style and has a lot of ordinary realistic types of enviroments which don't give much of a mood and sometimes even lack atmosphere.

Those comments on Half-Life 2 are a little over exagerated and I didn't mention any of the good points, but do you get my point?
