Two SATA Drives - Fixed

I just got a second drive, Maxtor 250GB SATA.

Im not wanting to set them up in a raid just have two seperate drives.

I've had my 120GB SATA working for ages and wasnt sure whether to connect my new one to the sec connection on the promise raid, or connect it to my second raid....

If i put it on the first, it doenst show up.... if i put it on the second it atleast shows in device manager (pic attached)

Im running on a ASUS K8V SE

Any ideas what to do?

Ok, solved.

For anyone that has this sort of problem in the future:

Goto: Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Computer Management

Then goto the Disk Management section in the Storage bit down the left hand side.

Your drive should appear in the bottom half of the right hand section (note, you might have to scroll down to see it)

Right click on the wee picture of the drive and select "initialize"

You then need to format the drive, just rick click on it again and select from the list

Hope this help someone else
