The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule, one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes. Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.

In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

It's only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything.

You just had a near-life experience!

**** what you know. You need to forget about what you know, that's your problem. Forget about what you think you know about life, about friendship, and especially about you and me.

We're consumers. We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession. Murder, crime, poverty, these things don't concern me. What concerns me are celebrity magazines, television with 500 channels, some guy's name on my underwear. Rogaine, Viagra, Olestra.

Reject the basic assumptions of civilization, especially the importance of materiel possessions.

We're a generation of men raised by women. I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer we need.

We have to bow to the guy.

What about Tyler Durden?

Yeah those quotes are from the movie - and you point is?...

Heh...I really misread that bow bit.

It is a good film though. It was on the tele the other day and according to the synopsis, its a PG :O I think someone made a mistake.

Best... Movie... Ever... The book is just as good... better, actually in my opinion. The ending is different, and he actually ends up killing his boss in the book, also :D. Everyone can learn things from this book and movie... I try to live by it's morals.

Book is very similar to the movie though but its different enough to be better then the movie. Read it if you haven't.

Yeah, the ending is quite a bit different in the fact that it goes past the part where the buildings blow... it shows what happens a little bit after. No more spoilers :p

That was my favorite ending of any book. Pure genius.

Yeah... by far the best ending of any book I've ever read, too. The way he thinks of what it is and the descriptions are f^cking perfect... pure genius, indeed.

Wow...I just finished watching this on DVD for the first time not 7 minutes ago, and I have to say it's just as good as people have told me. Loved it, and it certainly deserves it's place as a cult-classic! Tyler Durden is indeed a man full of philosophy and/or truth :p

Now go get the book and read it. It's even better.

movie is amazing, book is ditto. Remember though this is a satire, I found the movie frightening because I could imagine people following a guy like that, blindly.

I posted this because I saw a guy in Spain with a T-shirt like this :

Look in the desk thread when I post my desk in there. There a little Fight Club thing hidden in there(or really obviusly out in the open).

But the real question is... who is kaiser soze?

If you guys loved the quotes in the movie, make sure to check every corner of the game when it comes out. Lots of good stuff in there, i promise.

<sarcasm>They made a book out of Fight Club? :dozey:</sarcasm>

I'll put it on my to-buy list

I also liked the movie but I just see it one time in all my life

but still is a very good movie that can change your personality

actually, the book came first right? Ill have to read it. Thanks for not spoiling it becuase i always enjoy a good read.

The matrix used to be my favorite movie, until i saw fight club. Its just so awesome.

Yes, the book came first. A little bit better in my opinion, mainly because it goes a little further into Tyler's mind and shows a little bit more of the ending...

Y'know what another f^cking good book I read was? "The Coma" written by the dude that wrote the movie 28 Days Later (his name is escaping me right now.) I seriously suggest that all of you check that one out, too... it's a deep trip into the mind of a coma patient trapped in his own mind, self-knowing, not able to figure out real from fake... it's a good one.

Listen to me. You have to consider the possibility that God doesn' like you, he never wanted you. In all probability, He hates you. This is not the worst thing that can happen... We don't need him... **** damnnation. **** Redemption. If we are God's unwated children... SO BE IT!

I too love this movie. Reading the book and watching the movie numerous times.

What other books does he have?

Dairy, survivor and invisible monsters are really good. Go to amazon and search for his books, youll find tons of them. Im currently reading his "stranger than fiction" pretty damn good book.

Wow, I actually haden't herd of that one. I have all of his other books. I really recomend Suvivor, Diary, Invisible Monstors, and Fugitives and Refugees. Fugitives and Refugees is a travel book about Portland, Oregan. Even if you never plan on going there the book is an awesome read. It will make you want to go there.

Fight club is defiantly my favourite film! but no matter how many times i watch it it won't be as good as the first time i saw it.;(

I was amazed the first time I watched it because I thought it was just going to be a movie about guys beating each other up. Then bam major plot twist that I never even saw coming.

I had to watch it again because I didnt catch all the dark humor watching it the first time.
But yes the first time was most enjoyable for me.

one of my favorite movies of all time, i mean this has been my sig since the begining. I think I'm gunna go out and read the book now since i've been meaning too anyway.

the ending of the book sucks ass. the movie is much better imo

Yeah, dude... *brings thread back to life* Wraith, the ending in the book is exactly the same as the movie, except it goes on further after the movie (slightly,) and shows what happens afterwards.

First time I saw the film it scared the hell out of me.

*hugs his precious comsumer lifestyle*

I tried reading the book and found it rather difficult... not meaning that I can't read well, the book just didn't flow very well, and I didn't enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed watching the movie.

Just for reference, I do read other books, like Stephen King and Anne McCaffrey (sp?)

LOL i taught Tyler Durden was a guy in the forum at first :)
