lol. I just decided that I was going to go to UCF for college this fall. My sister goes there now. I'll ask her if she knows anything about it but she probably doesn't. I live about 45 minutes from there so its not a bad drive so I might go.

:( too far for me... oh well, I've got LANWAR!

www.lanwar.com <- their next event shoud be Million Man Lan 3 or 4 at the municipal stadium here in Louisville. A couple thousand people turn up for that one....

Thanks guys..

Pressure, you won't regret attending..

This WILL be a big event with organized tournaments and prizes..

AhhH! Gamer alert!

Look at all the space! The light! The headphones! No music! No Speakers! No demos! So small! Ahhhh the horror!

The Lanwar one looks a little bit better ( http://www.lanwar.com/images/LW17BigPic800.jpg ) but still... where is the damn big screen and speakers?!

Not my kind of lan... too bad Dreamhack is turning into a gamer lan too :/ DH could be a great scener lan (it were a good scener lan)

I hate gamer lans....

ACK lights turned on ew.

Thats a small LAN... we have this LAN called Assembly thats held every year here in Finland, draws about 5-6 thousand people each year.

"MillionManLan 2 continues the mission to hold the largest lanparty in the world."

Good luck :)

We got like 4 Lans here in Scandinavia with 5000+ (Every year. Dreamhack with about 5000-6000 is twice a year)

Anyways, i want to go to Assembly someday... Sounds like fun (and more of a scener lan than a gamer lan)

I am going to have my own lan party and no one is invited except myself and a few hookers.

What games will be palyed at this event for the tournaments and stuff?

Oh, and don't forget the 4-times a year [CoHn] LAN, which managed to draw a grand total of 15 participants last time :P :(
Ah well, the one we're having in a month or so will be a bit better, I think 30 people have registered so far:)

my firned jsut had a mini lan party at his house... 20 or so people. we knocked the power out at his house 5-6 times. :)

We already have a Halo, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Warcraft 3, and Counter-Strike tournaments planned.

More to come most likely..

Guys, if you are in the Orlando, FL area around the even time, please come check it out, it's going to be around 150 attendants.

I love me some ET :) 15 dollars! What do you think I'm made out of money?

I assume you'll be attending tone.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you guys (specifically Majestic) mean by "scener" vs gamer LANs?

A scener lan is when you create something. You have compos graphics (both 2d and 3d), code, music and "wild compos". They allow you to bring speakers to the lan and play music (Chip musik most likly :)). The whole lan feels like a huge party. You dont play anything really... you just go around and talk to people and watch other peoples work on a huge screen.

Gamer lans is the opposite really. They dont have compos in code/gfx/music, you cant bring your speakers with you (only headphones \o/) and they play CS 24/7....

Sure you can find money but really... its kinda dead... everyone sitting with their headphones on and whine if they hear anything else than the fotsteps in CS.

Too bad the gamer lans are taking over... i miss the old days... I remember all the scener vs gamer "wars" we had :D

omg I used to be a scener..

I started liking gaming LANs better because umm.. you actually play games..

And no, this event is not going to be JUST CS.

I personally don't play CS anymore. I really do think that CS has lost it's fun.

Hey since I'm gonna be going to UCF in the Fall this year can I only pay $10? :) Yea, I know I'm cheap.

Yes, students that currently attend ANY Florida university or college only has to pay $10.

See you all there, I'll be the busy network admin ;)

Sounds exactly like Valhalla http://www.valhalla.net.au Except they play COD all the time. I'm getting sick and tired of COD.

COD must die.

Gah! I hate living in Utah sometimes. There are no awesome LANs at all here.
The only time that I play with other people is at my friend's on Friday nights with about 5-7 other guys, and all they want to play is Warcraft III DotA. I am crazy about DotA and all but I would like to be able to kick some trash in HL2 DM, UT2004, CSS, and the like every once in a while.
