Judging by the small amount of new, interesting info on the web about hl2 and its mods, it looks like its beginning again. Just like it happened before.

As spt 30th came closer and closer, more and more info (benchmarks, anyone?) came out until a week before release and then nothing. Now, summer is going to come closer and closer. They are going to release tidbits of info to the hungry dogs that we are, then finally give us a relesase date, and maybe even a demo or the sdk (doubtful). The community will be roaring, posting like mad, waiting for the release.

Then, when the day finally comes....did it come out? was it delayed again? was the code stolen again? did something f**k up again?

I honestly am not sure, since a game HAS to come out sometime, but my faith in release dates is small if anything. What do you guys think?

I say blindly follow Valve's information, and if/when it ends up being delayed... play something else. Worked for me the first time, and there's a bunch of awesome-looking games coming out in the next 6 months, so you'll have nearly a dozen of choices! :)

I think dont worry about it, it will eventually come out. As many people have already said, the first hl was delayed a full year. I hope that doesnt happen this time but it might. If that is the case i will continue to play DOD and HLDM until it comes out.

They already said no demo until after release.. and the SDK will come before the release (which, should theoretically happen in/before March)

Well it's practically been delayed a year. It's Schedueled for this summer, so the release may be just a couple of months, or only a couple of weeks, from September 30th.

as annoying it is , let them do what they have to do to finish it off :)

Whenever the game comes, it comes. It would be really interesting to see if the SDK actually arrives within the next couple of months!

/me hands Letters a drink.

Quit yer cryin'! Gabe wouldn't want you to! :E

Milestones along the way: GDC presentation of Softimage XSI for making characters - March 22nd. E3 2004 - New HL2 Info, Movie, possibly date (or delay) - May 14-17th.

besides that, Doug Lombardi says we won't be getting any info until E3 time. (CNN Money article) no word on the SDK.

But they also said Vampires was delayed, this simply is not the case.

How could it? they can't release vampire before HL²...

Im suprised vampire didnt sue them im sure there losing money

They probably had something in their contract...

Pirates of the Burning Sea is now Q4 2004, so that doesnt help :/ (which was the original question in this post)

I highly doubt VALVe will delay again unless something disastrous happens. It would be PR suicide, also S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is due for release summer time as well, meaning HL-2 could go heads to heads with it.

Though, anything could happen I suppose.

Stalker is due for release in September according to Gamespot. But hey they could be wrong, anyway, Hopefully this will be when they finally release the game

@ topicstarter: Is it worth to make a thread about your crasy assumptions..?

These type of threads don't bother me, if no one posted threads that arn't required this board would be a lot quieter place. There's nothing much else to talk about really.

True..but it makes ppl believe crasy things sometimes..they just read blindly, and believe it.

If this thread is useless then why is there almost 2 pages of replys? Also if a thread doesn't intrest you don't post in it.

Personally I don't think the hype machine has started yet. Maybe badgers interview will get it rolling.

yes please dont post if you dont want to do anything but quiestion the topic. Im just asking for everyones thoughts on what will happen. It seems like its last summer again, and were nearing september if you know what I mean. I sure hope they release it this time.

Apirl is when it will be released. ;)

Valve will be hacked again in the upcoming few weeks, and as a result the game will be pushed back another six months due to "security reasons". Has there ever even been a confirmation that the "hacker" has been caught or punished? I saw some blog post of some guy claiming the FBI raided him, but that was easy enough to be fiction.

Valve found the way to delay a game and actually recieve more community support... sheer genius.

Would you be that community support? You and all the other (unfortunately there are many others) conspiracy theorists? Don't put yourself in a 'minority' to be 'more observant' but realize that there are many people pissed off at Valve and coming up with equally uninformed ideas. Valve have not gained in any way besides the fact that we all will probably get a better game for it.

new topics....please...

Your avatar is making mine dizy,,,

Seriously, valve would probably go bankrupt if they don't realease HL2, i mean, will they always live on the HL1 sales (and the retail mods) and ATI sponsorship, i doubt it,,,

They have too many corporate deals with ATI, softimage and who knows who to not release this game this year first of all.
And secondly, I think the SDK will be released on the day, or very close to the day when they do the Softimage presentation thing. It would be a good plan methinks.

The game will then hopefully follow in may or june/july. hopefully ;D

Put your trust in Valve, and all will be good.

Personally I dont think the SDK will be released until fter the game is out.
