When installing Steam/HL2/CS I was not asked for any authentication. Have reinstalled several times but just keep getting the 'finished installation' screen. When do you have to provide the CD key? during installation or when you first try and play? Cannot get HL2 or CS running. Egg timer appears for a few seconds and then that's it.
Anyone had similar problems? Could this just be a faulty DVD?
