Bloody hell why did I EVER read this.

Edit:If you have read the other recent previews (from CVG for example) you wont find *many* new spoilers here. If you have not... read below.

WARNING!!!

THIS HAS DESCRIPTION OF THE ENTIRE BEGINNING OF THE GAME (WHERE YOU GO,CONVERSATIONS, WHAT YOU DO, WHO YOU TALK TO ETC ETC). READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

OH NO OH NO

apparent from the run-time, either; Episode Two is immediately impactful. When we grab Gordon by the WSAD he's still in the train carriage that he and Alyx rode away on at the climax of Episode One, only at this point it's lying on its end in a mass of wreckage at the foot of a valley. Clambering down, we find ourselves stuck neck-deep in water with no way out and no weapons. Fortunately Alyx is already outside. Even more fortunately, she's found the gravity gun, which she uses to prise off the door. "I forgot what a kick this thing has," she says, before handing it back. "When I couldn't find you, I kept... I know, I shouldn't have worried." What, no hug?

WTF

Thanks for the spoiler warning, Bulletbrain. It's tempting to read this, but... I... CAN'T! ;)

Not as spoilery as I thought it would be, I know very little more than I already knew when I started reading, apart from it confirming a few suspicions. They say it's all been engineered to not reveal any major spoilers.

[SPOILERS BELOW]

The three things that interested me most were:-
  • Someone to die - now utterly confirmed to happen in this episode - apparently the trailer being misleading and making us think Alyx dies, isn't as misleading as we all think. Cryptic.
  • Vortigaunt motive becomes clear - will we find out what was going on on Xen and why the Vorts released Gordon from stasis?
  • Alyx and Gordon have technology to access the Combine Overworld - will this be the climax of Episode 3? Especially as the arctic mission was simply to get ahold of the data packet Alyx and Gordon already have, hence no need for them to go there. Although there are hints that they do...

[/SPOILERS]

So the bits they've shown as aren't the spoiler bits.

They aren't the spoiler bits.

...

Yay!

Yeah, I can't wait for Magnusson, I hope he will be character similar to Dr.Rodney McKay from Stargate Atlantis. :)

This combined with GMan info can be summed up in one word:

YES!!!!!

Also [SPOILERS BELOW]

"you are carrying the very code Dr. Mossman had hoped to recover."

Is this the project she referred to?

Very nice preview

So I guess we won't witness the train crash at the beginning of Episode Two? To bad, although I wasn't really expecting to witness the crash.

Huh? Magnusson who is he im not recalling.

I was sure that name was familiar (so someone else survived from the test chamber :O (I thought that was a reason why gordon was special, there goes my theory :( )

Dammit, I wanna read it so much!
But I also wanna point at you and go "Har-har, more surprises for me!" later.

Just like a post-apocolyptic woman to not make up her mind...

Or are they talking about her infiltration of Breen in HL2? I'm not really sure...I didn't the Project was about getting that, I mean, surely not, judging from what she said. Also Rossel, it doesn't say she will double-cross again. ;)

No, Mossman is not dead, and probably won't die in EP2. She's totally Episode 3 material.

There ain't much spoilers, it's defenetly worth reading.

Well it spoiled the beginning, thats for sure :p

So that's where the strider buster comes from.

Still no explanation on how it works though. :)

Syked for Antlion workers!
Still don't know about a new weapon... and still want to fight an advisor:eek:

If the Advisor is psychic, maybe we'll have a physics duel with it!

It "telekinects" things at you, while you try and punt explosive barrels at it while dodging the projectiles?

More like HL2DM then anything else I imagine.

That sounds like a weak boss match...its like any other fps...

Define boss match. I don't think it would be a boss match in the traditional sense, think Nihilanth, or the HL2 sense, think Antlion Guard, but maybe somewher inbetween.

It doesn't spoil much, and I'm excited for Episode 2 again.

"A relative of the Strider (they're in the same "synth family"), the Hunter's another tripod walker."

Maybe strider busters are hunter compatible. Just an idea.

That would be cool. Attach it to the "face" watch it wiggle and twist trying to get it off. If it tries to fire a shot it would explode...

I'm confused it sounds like the portal storms started again but I thought it was said that they were always raging. I'm confused!

Hmm...good point...perhaps the Combine had been able to dampen the occurances, either limiting them local to the Citadels or on a global scale...

Read the info directly from valve thread. Apparently the storms were still around, just very limited. This new event has pushed them back to full strength.

We just found the frontal parts of Combine scanners can be used as Strider Busters.
qft

wtf you talking about, it says it was made from raw materials in a factory, which is a crappy method

No it doesn't.

It just says that Magnusson invented it. They could have used scanner parts in making it. What, you think the rebels have a factory hidden out in the outback? And a forge?
