Unblock chapters

Hello!
I played Half life 2 and episode one.
I had to clean the hard disk, after this I connected to stream and downloaded both games once again.
Now all chapters are blocked again, like I never finished the games.
How can I unblock them without having to play it all over again before?

Well, what do I have to do with the string you posted?

It's a console command. RIght-click the game in Steam > Properties > Set launch options. Enter -console into the window that appears and start your game.

One question: why on every site telling you how to cheat by bringing down the console ask you to press ~

I think what Xen meant was why sites show that button as "~" ( the uppercase sign) instead of "`". Its like referring to the "1" button as "!".

Anyway I dont like to "cheat". I think that if this is the only way I will have to go through it once again. wont b so bad after all!

As the guys say, put that command in the console once you've opened it, but replace the two XX's with 12 (for the 12 chapters). And you should have the option to start where you like.
