Uncharted 3 out now

I've read some reviews that claim it's superior, actually. I've finished playing it, and while my memories of Uncharted 2 are somewhat vague, Uncharted 3's setpieces seem even more fantastic. I don't know, I'd say in most ways they are equal but with the third title having a decent edge overall.

And, even if the third title is inferior, it's one of the best gaming experiences I've had in quite some time.
 
I guess Gamespot felt it was inferior... but **** Gamespot.

I've got tons of work to do at the moment, but I've dedicated Friday night to wine and Uncharted 3 and told my friends to **** off.

While I don't care for IGN, that site gave it a ten out of ten, if I remember correctly.

Eh, I don't know I couldn't help but feel Uncharted 3 was a "tighter" experience. I'm too lazy to round up reviews, but it seems it has attained universal acclaim like its predecessor, not sure what the metacritic average is compared to Uncharted 2, though.

Man, I want to bring up certain points in the game to justify my prior post, but I don't want to reveal it for the lucky ignorant.
 
Probably borrow it from my friend. I liked UC2, it was a fun movie.
 
Just finished UC 3, I would say it was slightly better than UC 2 because of the more personal story. Overall, a great entry in the series; I will be looking forward to what Naughty Dog has up their sleeve for the next adventure.
 
Same i liked Uncharted 2 more. I found Uncharted 2 had a more interesting story and better set pieces than Uncharted 3.
 
Agreed. But I liked the chase scenes a lot better here. The one in Yemen. God. That was cool. Plus the bar brawl at the start.
 
I've read some people's comments stating Uncharted 3 is the best game of the series, I think it's greatest moments surpass the second's greatest moments. Overall, I'm not so sure which is the better game. I only played Uncharted 2 once and that was a long time ago.

One thing I will criticize the third one about is that this was supposed to be "drake and sully's game" and sure you spend a lot of time with sully, but you spend quite a bit of the game without him as well. Also, I wouldn't've minded more flashback scenes, or dialog with drake and sully that fleshes out their history. In all honesty, I had a lot of fun with this game, though. I've beaten it twice, on Normal and Hard difficulty. I might play it a third time on Crushing, if I feel like really frustrating myself.

As a sidenote, I especially liked Drake's desparate tones when stranded in the desert.

this. The chapter in Cartagena was wonderful. I'm also disappointed the game never touched further upon the fact that

His real name is supposedly not Nathan Drake, if she is to be believed.
 
Just beat this on crushing, damn, there were a few parts where it was so f-ing frustrating I wanted to scream (ballroom on cruise ship, settlement, etc) but for the most part it wasn't too bad.

Yeah, Cartegena was awesome, I loved the background music, it made the atmosphere perfect. Anyway, I'm pretty sure in interviews they said "flashbacks would flesh out drake and sully's history" I mean I understand the whole game couldn't be like that, but only two chapters? As far as

I was wondering about the validity of Marlow's claim that Drake wasn't his real name. Maybe Naughty Dog is saving that to be a plot point in their next game, or something. Also, was it known in previous games that Drake's mother committed suicide? I've only played Uncharted 2 out of the previous games and that was too long ago to remember those details.
 
I finished it with my mum watching me play (for the story--she hasn't seen the other 2). I personally prefer the story to the other 2 because
No obviously magical shit. The stuff at the end was due to the water's influence on Drake, and, with a bit of suspension of disbelief, is probably possible to have happened.

Anyway I wasn't a fan of the aiming (and ended up swearing quite a few times, much to my mum's disappointment), as it made stuff like the previously mentioned ballroom a mother****er. Even on normal.

I know the patch has come out now to revert the aim back to UC2 style, but I honestly don't know if I want to go back through it on a harder difficulty after my experience with it previously. Maybe just to see how much better it is in comparison.

Haven't played it myself since the update, but a buddy of mine who plays the MP claims it made the aiming suck and characters control like they are drunk, rather than be more like UC2.

We knew nothing of Drake's parents in the first two games, so 3 is the first to shed light on that.

Have you played it on Crushing yet? Damn, that was frustrating. Obviously, the key in the ballroom (when you are behind those boxes) is to run past the snipers and go to where you entered the ballroom, by those revolvin doors. Every time I tried to go up those stairs I either got killed by a brute or some ambitious little pirate, so I had to climb those boxes and grab onto those railings, scrambling to the revolving doors. I haven't downloaded the update yet, and as I've heard bad things, I don't plan to anytime soon.

Also, I liked the story of the 3rd one better (I just remember my impressions of the 2nd one). I just wish the game would've been made slightly longer, maybe two or three more chapters.

As far as the revelations on Drake's past, perhaps these will be explored in Uncharted 4? Naughty Dog has already stated another Uncharted game is a distinct possibility. I honestly wouldn't mind if they dropped the multiplayer next time around and focused more on the singleplayer.
