Yeah, after Orange box officially launches you can buy Ep.2 for $30....If that seems like a better deal..
 
Why would you not want to spend 10$ more for 2 more games? That seriously doesnt make sense? Not to mention Portal is part of the Half-Life story.

You know, some people don't care at all about the Half-Life story and just want action. Though how anyone couldn't want Portal I can't comprehend :rolling:
 
I thought it was possible to buy the three-game bundle that was originally going to be the Black Box through Steam, as opposed to buying each game separately?

Apparently not, for now. It may happen closer to, or after release.
 
You can buy them separately later if that's what you want...however it's pretty much a rip off if you don't get the whole package if you ask me

Somethin's wrong with you. $60 is a DEAL if you want 5 separate games.

And for some 2 of them will be free.
 
It's three games for $45 and you get another two (three if you count peggle) games free with them. How is that a bad deal?

Yeah no one would be complaing about the price if they'd just said "TF2 + Portal + Ep2" for 45 bucks....

But because they give us HL2+EP1 for FREE people seem to think that that means they somehow should only pay 3/5 of 45bucks... :S

And valve were just trying to be nice... :cheers:

Plus now I can rope some of my "never-played-half-life-before" friends into trying out hl2 and ep1 and maybe snare valve a few more future purchases.

I pay 19% VAT though, Americans don't pay VAT on purchases like this right?

I paid 53 dollars, still a great deal for games that will last me over 100 hours easily.

Why? Because they give you 5 games 3 new 2 for free for 45$ on steam and retail. Wtf is wrong with people. ****ing cant believe people cant even see a value like this. Biggest in history yet they still ask for my discounts or cheaper prices. ****ing losers.
 
It says right on it, it's like a 125$ or something for the orange box games seperate. Buy them together, yea it's a little more, but it's worth it. If you don't want to do that, wait six months and buy if for $20...
 
3 new games for $45. That is $15 a game. A bundled DISCOUNT.

Episode 1 alone was $20 and few people complained maybe they should raise their prices less people were complaining then.

Maybe they don't like puzzle games?

I think people are going to be a litte dissapointed if they think that Portal is going to have that much to do with the HL storyline. I know Gabe has said that it will but he also said this is more to do with the games ending. I bet they only decided to put this in fairly late in the games development as a token to the HL fans. Previously Portal was all about being an interesting looking puzzle game & it didn't have anything to do with the HL universe. But people started speculating that it did & I reckon Valve have picked up on this & made an ending that will make the game tie in with HL in some way. Maybe we will seem the G-man at the end doing one of his little speaches. I don't think it's going to be much more than that.

With regards to the OP, you should be very glad you don't live in Australia. We have to pay through the nose for a new full release. Last I checked, PS3 games were on sale for AU$110, or US$96, and most PC games retail for around AU$100.

Trust me, the orange box is an absolute bargain. I considered TF2 the game I was least looking forward to in the package, yet I would have easily paid over $30 for it if necessary.
