Ahahah - this made me laugh - funny forward email D:

YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN IN UNIVERSITY TOO LONG WHEN...

You actually like doing laundry at home where the washing machines work.

Two miles is not too far to walk for a party.

You'd rather clean than study especially if an essay is
due.

Oh shit how did it get so late!" comes out of your mouth at least once a night.

Parents' cooking becomes something you desire, not avoid.

You schedule your classes around sleep habits and soap operas especially neighbours and Hollyoaks.

You know the pizza boy by name and don't even need to read the menu.

You go to sleep when it's light and get up when it's dark.

You live for getting mail.

Looking out the window is a form of entertainment.

Prank phone calls become funny again.

You start thinking and sounding like your friends and your accent becomes a hybrid of West Country, Surrey and general Northern.

Highlighters are the coolest things on earth.

Rearranging your room is your favourite pastime.

Rubbish cheap £1 shops are so cool.

The weekend lasts from Thursday to Monday.

BEFORE I CAME TO UNIVERSITY, I WISH I HAD KNOWN...

That it didn't matter how late my first lecture was, I'd still sleep through it.

That I could change so much and barely realize it.

That you can love a lot of people in a lot of different ways.

No matter how 'cool' you were in school, no one here cares.

That if you wear polyester everyone will ask why you are so dressed up.
That every clock on campus shows a different time.

That if you got good a-levels, so what? It doesn't matter here.

That I would go to a party the night before an exam or essay due-date.

That you can know everything and fail a test.

That you can know nothing and ace a test.

That I could get used to almost anything found out about my friends.

That most of my education would be obtained outside of lectures.

That friendship is more than getting drunk together but that's still funny......!

That Sunday is a figment of the world's imagination.

That Psychology is really Biology, that Biology is really Chemistry, that Chemistry is really Physics and that Physics is really Maths.

That my parents would become so much smarter in the last few years.

That it's possible to be alone even when you are surrounded by friends.

Don't be dismayed at good-byes, a farewell is necessary before we can meet again, and meeting again, after moments or a lifetime, is
certain for those who are friends.

TOP 10 REASONS THAT UNIVERSITY IS LIKE PRIMARY SCHOOL

10. You cry for your mother.

9. You cross the street without looking for cars.

8. Snack time is a necessity.

7. You bundle up for the outdoors without caring what you look like (because everyone else looks as stupid as you do).

6. You stay at home and play games with your friends.

5. You wear your backpack on both shoulders.

4. You wear big mittens.

3. Playing in the snow is a legitimate activity.

2. You take naps.

1. You look forward to cheese toasties.

Aye, quite a bit of that is true.

I've just got 3 days of exams and then I am packing it up back to Europe for winter break with my mates. ftw

Hahaha some of those sound really good fun, for when i go Uni after my gap year (if i do it). A right laugh tbh.

What the devil is a cheese toastie?
!?!?!?!? Is it not known in america or over seas what toasties are? Dear god. It involves melting cheese between two slices of toast and the sides are kinda sealed down (if you have a toastie maker!). You can add bacon or tomatoes if your feeling lucky. I wish i could still eat cheese :(

You must have heard of cheese on toast though? Its what it says if your confused.

Oh...we call that grilled cheese. Put cheese between 2 pieces of bread, butter the outside and cook it on a pan until both sides are brown and the cheese is melted. It's quick and easy.

Grilled cheese is awesome. I look forward to that even in the absence of university.

its funny how true a lot of those are.

I've got a grilled cheese maker! :O

Seriously, making grilled cheese/cheese toasties is my favourite (and only :p) cooking skill.

I even made a factory once that produces 10 X (# of persons) grilled cheese/cheese toasties per hour.

Fun for the whole family :p

Uni is just like that - for example me and one of my flatmates bought toy shotguns yesturday and spent the entire evening playing with them :o

Farking tax dodgers!

<3

I didn't go to Uni, but thanks to mates who did, I've managed to crash a few unions, certainly isn't all bad being a student from this field. :D

Playing with toy guns is awesome I tell you.

....what?

Hah...I just had one happen to me.

You've been in university too long when:
You pass a dumpy 40-year old guy teacher another middle aged man the scitar in the middle of a foyer, and aren't phased.

Five minutes later I suddenly went "what the hell? I've been here too long."

What's this "learning" thing I've been hearing about?

hehe very good, definately see some of those with me and my mates

Lol, nice one Badge! :thumb:

Makes me even more eager to go away for Uni! :bounce:
And before you all ask, i'll probably be going somewhere in Wales

Sister has come back with similar stories from Bristol Uni.

Don't go to Wales - shit nightlife!

My mate's at Aber (Fat Tony) and he has very little selection in the way of nights out - come to Lincoln, we're the party uni really :D

Thought about Lincoln actually, then i realised it is in England, and as such will have those extra Tuition Fees which i cant afford. Somewhere in Wales, for a Welshy is cheaper, and close to home (Cardiff)

As such i plan to stay in South Wales easy travelling distance to many a gig i will end up goin to :bounce:

Come to Salford, you get to dodge packs of scallies on the way to Uni and play PS2 games on a projector. :P

Lincoln is full, of bummers!

go to durham, i went to formal toight and it was wicked! i pulled my college daughter, i really wanted liz :( time for coco pops!

I might be going to Durham next term for a night out :D My friend's sister is ther e :)

Let us know if you do :P

I've still yet to meet Murray_H out in durham, although i did hear a rumour that a mr Hatfield was getting auctioned off last weekend...

Oh and at durham, several of the colleges have toastie bars, i've only seen the menu for the one at castle, which had the opportunity for some rather interesting combinations, say smarties, BBQ Sauce and cheese...

At Hild Bede we have a burger van outside...

There's a microwave toastie in my freezer. I win for laziness!

I miss Uni life, I'm gonna be working in a 37+ hour a week job soon :O

I can't wait for this. Just two more years and it's college time!

Uni time for all you brits.

I did indeed get auctioned, raised £30...woot!

I've not been out too much this term, it's easier just to stay in your house. Have you braved klute a lot?

Castle bar is nice and the toasties are too, but the sweet ones are horrible!

Haha, I got that exact email not too long ago, good stuff. University is definately the shit.

I've heard bad things about klute, i only found out where it was the other week when coming back from studio let alone entered it. I don't go out loads myself so i've only been in studio, bar 19 and walkabout...

I think castle bar gets a bit crowded, but i've only been there on a wednesday night...

well done on being worth £30 :P

Edit: Know what's weird, after replying i scrolled all the way up to the top and could have sworn badger was wearing makeup as the picture whooshed by.. :|

What are some of you guys studying? By the sounds of it, it isn't all that intense now is it? Unless you guys are in your first or second year I suppose.

But then again, I don't know jack about universities in the UK.

I'm in the UK, I'm studying History - in my first year.

Bear in mind Lincoln is ****ing HARDCORE :D :D :D

Oh shit how did it get so late!" comes out of your mouth at least once a night.

hahahaha, I do that now

I'm doing Computer Science at Durham Uni, first year, somehow I manage to be lazy and keep up with work at the same time whilst everyone complains how hard it is :D

Wow, I know someone else who's doing Computer Science.. he said it was kinda hard on the old brain :|

So is 12 shots in as many minutes, as I discovered last night/this morning!
