To be honest, the physics demo part movie (the one that supposed to come out today) is one of my favorites because it just shows the capabilities of the engine.

I would love to see more detail on that combine soldier(he was all blurred up in the gamespy movie)

Furthermore I'm concerned that valve will split up the physics/source capabilities part in 2.

What would you like to see most in the next movie?

Yes, but what if valve splits up the movie in half so they release the water part tommorow? (I don't trust them anymore)

If the movie isn't released yet, then I guess they MIGHT be putting the entire tech-demo into one video. I don't see why they should release it in 2 parts...

Personaly, I can't wait to see the effects that source can handle in better detail. :D

There is water in both of the movies. I'm sure they split the movie in two, because it was two movies, glued together in the amateur-video...

yup. the water thing is a diffrent part off the demo

They show water from distance in the first (but I want to see it, it shows the barrels sinking and fading away in the darkness!).
In the second you'll see it closer, and see through water (and see if the water surface is dynamic or not!?)

Actually I think we will be seeing the docks next, someone found it in the gcache file using a hex editor.

What do you mean by that? The water doesn't actaully have waves, it's a flat surface with great height/reflect/refract mapping and animations on it. The surface of the water doesnt actually change.

Yep. I hope though, they include some dynamic displacement maps for the seawater in some parts of the game. Instead of just refractive methods.

dude even in ut2003 when you move in the water it creates waves.

im sure its possible too in this engine

cuz steam will hold these videas as long as they can cuz they have new vids they want to save till ike aug at this rate..

Has there been official word on whether the vid will be out todau or not?

wow

If that is the case, then I guess Steam needs to be *majorly* retooled.

If it cannot handle small (~100mb) files every night, much less every other night, how in the world do they expect to distribute a whole fricken game at high speeds.

You are correct; I just assumed (possibly a false assumption) that the delay could be attributed to the fact that Valve is having trouble with Steam (the reasons it was delayed for two weeks in the first place).

I guess Valve could be intentionally holding it back, but I really fail to see the point, as it is not even new material.

Oh well, whatever.

hmmmmm i might be 100% wrong k? but dident eric or someone say it was one vid per day?

kotik sorry dident see it. day or so? hmmm.. im not going to give it a week or so come on then again i have no controll.... ill be pisted but ill still be here. you want to flame me? go for it.
