Okay, basically I've had the same stutter problems that everyone else has been having, but i've also been operating HL2 on only 512 mb of RAM. I JUST upgraded to a gig, and I opened HL2, and IMMEDIATELY noticed a major improvement. The game runs like a dream, no stutter in sight. The loading times are finally less than 3 minutes now. (averaging at 20 seconds per level.) Okay, so basically my advice is to not jump to conclusions if you're only operating at 512 mb of RAM, as you're probably just having Memory issues with the game. So when you upgrade, i can bet 2-1 that you'll notice major improvements.
