Upgrading from 9600xt to 6800 vanilla

As the title states im looking to oust my 256mb 9600xt and go for something like an nvidia 6800 vanilla.

Has anyone done a similar upgrade? Will the difference be OMG or negligable?

What brand should i be looking for? Should i just go for the asus dumbed down gt? I think my mate can get me a Leadtek 6800 vanilla for about $400 aussie

well the difference is OMG!!!!!!!!
and i would suggest eVGA 6800 and unlock all the pipes and oveclock it to GT speeds like 400 , 900

ive been reading that Leadtek's have a really good success rate with the unlocking of extra pipes with some softmod. does it damage the card at all?

Personally, I really perfer Gainward and Asus as Nvidia manufactures. I have not kept up recently with what the different manufactures offer on the Geforce side recently.

The 6800 really outperforms the 9600XT.
Just like your 9600XT outperforms a GF3 TI 500...or a FX 5200.
