ok... right now i have a radeon 9700, i have about enough for a card in the $200 range what card should a get and how big of a notice in fps will i most likely see? also is getting a new graphics card for that price worth it, or are the improvements over my 9700 very little?

IMO if you have waited this long I would wait a little longer with 200$ for upgrading. The cards in this price range arn't that much different from what you have now (they are faster though). IMO it would be a waste of your upgrade money if you wouldn't be upgrading again.

You have a 9700 so you got a pretty high end card for when you bought it, I assume. I'd wait til Nvidia/ATI release their new cards over the summer and maybe get one in the fall. Maybe you'd be able to pick up a 6800GT for that much by then. Who knows.

Is there something coming out soon that you are upgrading for? Card not performing well enough to play your games like you'd like to?

yeah the 6800Gt's I think are close to about 200 right about now.. wait a bit longer and save up some more cash I'd say.

not so many new games really just the fact that xbox 360 along with all the other consols are comming out and i just have a feelling that alot of good games are going to start to come out and i'm probably going to need to get a better card for them... but yea i guess i might as well wait a little longer and see what turns up.

thanks for the suggestion

this is not a question really related to my original but basically i was wondering if the ati uninstall all utility actually does get rid of all my ati drivers etc... or do i need to use driver cleaner or what ever it's called, if i don't need to then i'd rather not.
