PPL you dont need to buy the next generation Video cards(6800) to play hl2 well. a 9500 pro is good enough!!!!!

gonna upgrade from a fx 5900 to a 6800 ultra, nvidia really did it this time. Also maybe a pci express mobo.

last time i got a pentium 2.8ghz/ddr-400/intel 875 mobo/fx 5900 all for hl2 and kaputski, no hl2. I dont blame valve or anything haha, all my fault. this time i'm gonna wait for a solid release date, no fecking around this time. I'm ready for u valve.

upgraded in december.
1.5ghz w/ 512mb of pc133 to 2.4ghz w/ 512mb of pc4200. overclocked my cpu to 3.4ghz with my sp-94 + tornado got me a nice abit ic7-max3 mobo so sata drives i needed ...so i got a 36gb raptor and a wd120gb sata to replace my 5400rpm 60 gig. still stuck with this old ti4200 w/ 128mb. waiting for the 512mb versions of the 6800ultra and x800XT

exactly the same for me, 9600 pro is good enough for now, but im going to double my ram 2 a gig.

Woah! Your basement is F-ing awesome, the theater set-up is cool, but the arched cieling makes it that much cooler.

I am not very rich so I may choose the mid ranged ones.

Yes, everything runs through the computer. PS2, Gamecube, TV, lighting (once i get it installed..) and ofcourse DVD's and other movies.
The beamer itself just has a normal VGA connector and can do about 1280x720 without any problems. It's not plug and play though, it took me about 2 months of tweaking to get a hang of it.

But I think HL2 will look pretty good at 2.5m x 1.5m :naughty:

I have already upgraded for HL2.

Before: AthlonXP 2100+, 512MB PC3200, 128MB GeForce4 Ti4200
Now: Athlon64 3200+, 1GB PC3200, 256MB GeForce 6800 Ultra (whenever it comes out, unless the radeon card looks more appetizing (sp?))
