Using the Wiimote to Play Half Life 2

Where is the video? The page says video after the jump, but I'm like whaaa?

Looks awkward and frustrating as hell to use.

Anybody besides me think the whole wii-mote thing is retarded?

yep.
and i actualy played the wii and some of its games including red steel, raving rabbits, wii sports and sonic
i must say i was disappointed. Only the wii sports games were fun. Worst of all was red steel.

Yeah, somebody already said this, but remember, the aiming is weird because it emulates keyboard movement,
so it would be like moving the cursor with a keyboard.

I have a Wii myself, and it's awesome. I can't see how the above poster can be disappointed with it.
Maybe you need to play Zelda. ;D
That game is so incredibly perfect and epic in every way it's ridiculous!
And swinging the remote is much more intense than pressing a button.
I haven't played Red Steel, and though it looks fun, it has gotten mostly bad reviews.
I hope there are some really good shooters heading for the Wii that shows its potiential.
(Tough Call of Duty 3 seems to get mostly positive reviews)
Wii Sports is definitely a lot of fun. Especially with friends!

No me to, i can buy a gamecube for a 100 euro's in retail. So the 220 extra euro's i pay for a wii, is for the wiimote and some less horrible graphics. F**k the wii, PS3 ftw !!.

Yeah, you and few other guys.

I can buy 6 gamecubes or 3 Wii's for the price of one good PS3.

hf

EDIT: Oh btw try not to get stabbed when going out to buy it lol

Are you blind? Look down after that text. It's right underneath it.

Firefox must hate it, or I don't have the right codec or something... there's just blank space.

/EDIT ah, there it is... I have no idea why it didn't work last time. And for your information, yes, I am blind, that is why I'm surfing the internet.

These are the guys who have made the windows script for it, so no it's not faked. They seem to be constantly improving it and are including the sensor bar aswell, so not long until there is a full app to make the Wii remote work on pc exactley how it does on Wii.

rofl, this guy uses his christmas tree in replacement of the sensor bar!? http://youtube.com/watch?v=KggO_V9BT-g

i heard alll you need is two candles to replace the censor bar. any infrared device will do it .

only a total fanboy would waste their money on a ps3. the computing capabilities are good for ai and such, but its nowhere close to a better graphical machines then the 360 is. the PS3 in the end has less memory then the 360.

get a wii, and a 360 for the price of a ps3. you will be happy, and have the best of both worlds.

As far is a know, the ps3 and xbox 360 are equal graphic wise. But a PS3 does have more processing power then a xbox 360... and in the end it will own the 360.

and since when does a candle emit infra-red light ?

Any light source does, you only see the visible light part of the spectrum of course.

Here is my theory on the PS3. Supposedly better processor, DEFINATLY less memory though. you have to use lower res textures on the ps3, and i dont see any way around that. the main benefit of more drive space is kinda rediculous. if you fill a 30 gig blue ray, you have to create more content, that will cost more in production, and less in sales cause you cant cross platform all off that. any new content would need to be ps3 only, unless you add another disc to your game, which would be a sensable way to counter the extra blue ray space.

I think the PS3 is on thin ice. everyone is saying "wait till they learn the hardware" which is true, but at the same time people are also maximizing the 360 hardware. look at the first 360 games, then compare them to halo 2, which was awsome, or early gc games, and compare those to RE4. both consoles will improve at the same rate till they cap off at the release of the next console.

360 is hoping to have 10 million units out there by the end of the year, PS3 is dangerously close to losing its proprietary liscenses if they don;t get more units. why would MGS want to release a game on a console with not even a million units sold?

I think nintendo though is primed for dominating the marketplace. selling a shitload of wiis, then in a couple years, when the graphics are cheaper, releasing an upgraded machine backwards compatable to the other hardware for much cheaper then current high end consoles.

What we need now, Is a full suit that will let us hold a fake gun and we see everything Gordon sees.. that will be true HL2... Your right in the action! It will be freakin awesome! Hmm.. I wonder if they will come out with a gun for the wii. That replaces the Wiimote, like the Duck hunter thing in old SNES.

"Oh, the Wii. Your first stumbling steps into Virtual Reality."
