i thought this game will be released in june. yet, there is not a single new vid or info on them on the game. any body has any idea what happned to the game?

last i heard it was suppose to be realeased this fall but no new info has come up. also whats with all of the delays in games through out the past year and half. are they following valves footsteps?

For the record it has been renamed to Unreal Tournament 3. IGN has it slated for release in January of 2008 (for ps3 im assuming pc as well).

I have made the mistake of going by IGN's dates with UT3 before. They are made up by IGN, look up the 'unreal tournament 3' listing under xbox360 and PC on their site. Different dates.

Other game sites say TBA 2007 or When its done. Hopefully it hits sometime in the fall.

At least this means I'll have my Core2Duo machine built before this comes out! Which reminds me Asus I'll be asking you for help deciding on parts

It'll probably be released within the next 2 years.

fall 2007.....they are trying to add more elements such as tweaking the game for more than 2 cpu cores and add dx10...physiX...etc

Maybe they changed the name of the game from Unreal Tournament 2007 because it's not coming in 2007. Either that or they didn't want people to think they make a new one every year. So if you are in the store and it's December 2007, there is no chance you would buy the game, since you would think it's old news....

either way, I totally just guessed.

did u ever consider that maybe its not a simultaneous release? i know some of their release dates may be based on some speculation, but they dont just pull them out of their asses they base it on something.

I hate the name UT3, because it isn't Unreal Tournament 3. The games went UT, UT2k3, UT2k4, so this would be 4. Apparently because it's the 3rd incarnation of the Unreal Engine, they're gonna go with UT3, but it's stupid.

Also, the scrapping of bombing run and assault was the worst idea ever. The lack of Assault was one of the things that really killed UT2k3's sales.

So, yeah, I'm not getting this.

When it comes out ill buy and try and play. Till then whatever, not really hyped for this game anymore. To many other games that are MUCH more interesting are on the way.

Say the titles to yourself. 'Unreal Tournament Two Kay Three', 'Unreal Tournament Two Kay Four'. You're cured :P

Though Epic are keen to distance themselves from the fact, UT2003 and 2004 aren't really two separate games anyway. Either UT2003 is a rushed out, commericalised Beta version of 2004, or 2004 is a Unreal Tournament 2003 expansion pack. All but the hardcore DM fans could have thrown out their copies of 2003 because 2004 contains all its content.

I'm personally glad they've gone for 'Unreal Tournament 3'. Getting rid of the year isn't just about the fact that they can't release in the right year (surely, they'd rename it '2008' and have done with it?), it's about denying that UT is about whacking out half-baked, feature-starved titles every 'season'. In fact, the whole 'sports / wrestling game' tone they gave to the UT2 titles was completely misplaced and ruined what little atmosphere the first game established. It also prevents the game from dating itself. UT2004 is still a great multiplayer game, but are people going to pick it up when it so clearly dates itself as a three year old game?

I'd rather put it down to UT2003 having about 2 genuinely playable maps. The gametype problem wasn't specifically the lack of Assault, it was the lack of anything that wasn't someplace in between 'Capture the Flag' and 'Deathmatch'. There's nothing special about Assault, and never has been: in UT1, it simply had some of the most innovative and interesting map designs (and the best proved to be the most easily exploitable as attackers, or pointlessly easy to defend). Epic apparently are putting 'Assault elements' into the new UT3 gametype, which is fine by me.

As for Bombing Run... it was just Capture the Flag with a single, concentrated deathmatching zone. I quite liked it, but it was hardly the height of sophistication :P

what im really excited about in this game is the hoverboard ... i mean it sux playing an fps with maps of this scale and finding urself out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but ur 2 feet to ride on back to the action ... this should provide an interesting way to get from place to place when u either dont want a vehicle or there are none available

meh not that interested in the game ..more of the same with better graphics, whoopdeedo ...there was a rumour floating around yesterday saying they're going to announce release date soon ..supposedly end of september

I'm sure people will mod Bombing Run and Assault right back in.

It's more the mod community and the essentially free use of UE3 that's exciting.

When people did that with Assault in UT2003, it wasn't done very well and it wasn't very popular. Even done well, UT gametypes tend to go ignored.
