I just saw the trailer for this. I had heard of its production and Natalie's involvement but I wasn't sure of its direction till now. Its looks like a decent Orwellian/Comic style badass action movie. I noticed that its a DC Comics production, has there been any original comics of these that you've read?

It's a comic written by Alan Moore. It came in 10 volumes and it totally kicks ass.

The main character, "V", is essentially a terrorist. It's going to be interesting to see how Hugo Weaving speaks, because V speaks in riddles half the time.

I don't see how they can make it into a great movie, but the trailer looks cool anway. There are more stories than just V's to follow, and I'm not sure how they'll do them all without cutting loads out. I hope they don't just Hollywoodise it into an action movie.

I think the movie will interest the people who have read the comics, but I'm pretty sure it won't be such a huge deal...
I've read the comics and I think it looks ok - and I hope we'll get to see Natalie Portman naked this time! At least she's naked in the comic for a few scenes...!

Theres one scene in the trailer were it looks like she's naked

With the Wachowsky`s, it`s either amazing or amazingly laughable. I`m hoping for the former.

Looks good. Nice to see a anti-state movie out of Hollywood.

"The people should not fear their government, the government should fear the people"

Speaking of right wing comics, anyone see the preview for the comic "Liberality"? It has a cyborg Sean Hannity:LOL: I assume that it's tounge in cheek, I can't imagine someone being that nuts.

That masks look gay, they could have picked something more baddass.

'Brazil' is Uber Wierd compared to this

I need to buy that movie.

Vendetta would have been better if they hadn't revealed who was playing V.

The trailer itself didn't reveal who V was, but websites would be stupid enough to do this

The mask is the best thing about it. He's doing all these horrible terrorist-like things, yet his mask always has this weird smile.

 The mask reminds me of Michael jackson man.

Its the Agent Smith guy who's behind the mask i believe, Hugo Weaving, if im wrong, you can kick my ass, if you already knew that, you may also kick my ass.

Movie looks great but that mask... why? It looks beyond retarded.

Edit: haha i just realized V looks like the burger king guy LOL

If you actually read the story and maybe googled you would know why they chose the mask. It is the Guy Fawkes mask, google it but beware of spoilers.

Its a Guy Fawkes mask. Guy Fawkes was going to blow up British Parliament in 1605.

Anyway, V for Vendetta is probably my favorite comic ever (besides Watchmen). The trailer raises my hopes in this being a good movie and one even Alan Moore himself will say "Hey good work."

the comic sounds good (albeit i havent read them to compare) but the film looks completley over the top, hollywoodised rubbish.

What I don't understand is why the Wachowski dumbasses are involved?

Because they're good at writing scripts regardless of most people's opinions? Though they have changed a few important details from the comic.

Looks cool. Although, I heard in an interview with the comic's writer, that he thinks what they've done is utter shit. Well, here's hoping for the best.

Whoa. I do not ruin storylines for people. That is a definte not cool in my book.

You'll have to read the comic to find out ;).

Who says his acts are horrible? He's just trying to free the world...

There are big discussions on this, but essentially he's a terrorist. He kills innocent people in his explosions. Just like all these suicide bombers nowadays. He might be doing it for good, but suicide bombers think they're doing "good" too.

It's never said that any innocent people get hurt, but there must be some.

There were some posts here about this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/

Read the comic and you'll understand his actions. Not to say they're not all bad, his killing of innocents are dealt with in the book.
