Will VAC mean the end of skinning the players? I hope not because I love to make skins for CSS, I don't like the existing ones I find the game a lot more enjoyable when I am shooting my boss.

VAC Myths
There are some things people often blame or think is true about VAC. Most are false. Below are facts, not Myths ...

* Winamp or HLamp (a plugin for winamp) DO NOT get you banned.
* Using buy scripts, or any other cfg file script will NOT get you banned.
* Custom skins, sounds, etc. WILL NOT get you banned. However some custom skin packs also have cheats installed. Be VERY careful about what you are installing before you install it.
* Microsoft Windows Service Patch 2 won't get you banned.
* VAC does NOT scan your hard drive
* VAC does not exist to make Valve money, but rather because players said they wanted Valve to do something about cheaters.
* People on servers or server admins can't get you banned on all VAC enabled servers.
* Modified versions of maps (clear walls, etc.) do NOT get you banned. If you can connect to a server with a map, it's fine.
* The "AKS WARRIOR" friendslist phenomenon was not responsible for any "false bans" either, it was merely a DB problem.

So no. :)

I have to second that.

lol you have some problems in the head man get that checked out

Clear Walls? Like... Making walls transparent? What? And what about a CFG script that works like an Aimbot? It would be slower, but can work.

Yea someone could make a custom texture for the walls and they could be transparent. I guess that would be an easy way to bypass VAC

I doubt it works to apply a transparant texture to the game where there was a normal one,
in HL1 you needed to create a entity to set the transparant value, now its done in the vmt, but i think its converted to a entity by the compiler so its just saving time for the mappers.

So when using a transparant texture to replace a solid one, the part whats suposed to be transparant will be black, or you get the HOM effect (Hall of Mirros).

But it might work on existing entity's like doors.

And if you discard the hom effect it would work too, but I think you get epileptic attacks every day then :)

Aye, or physical objects which make appearances in multiple levels. Just changing the skin on them so they're see through could work, since not even using hacks are all walls see through ;)
