When one looks at the the "Info you've recieved from Valve" thread it becomes clear that the Valve guys have more than enough time to read and reply to even the most mundane of e-mails.
On a couple occasions I have e-mailed Valve regarding Nvidia cards, looking for them to say something good, anything good, about Nvidia's products.
I never get a reply.
My most recent e-mail... (sent individually to all the people at Valve that might respond) asked simply for their "thoughts" on the new upcoming Nvidia card, and if they had a chance to test HL2 on one yet.
No-one replied.
Not even a "we haven't tried one yet."
I really am convinced that Valve and ATI are so in bed with each other that Valve can't/doesn't want to say anything that might take business away from ATI.
I really would like to know what Valve's Nvidia diss/ATI recomendation did for ATI's managment's stock portfolio. I'd also like to know what ATI gave to Valve for all this PR.
Just my $0.02
