Valve have published a different look at The International 2012 from behind the scenes, showing the teams at Valve HQ in Bellevue prior to the tournament starting and following them during the event at PAX this year.

If you missed The International 2012, Join Dota's Long Live The International also provided an excellent round-up but Valve's angle provides more exclusive player interviews & stories.

Dunno, I just think it looks boring.

To me Dota2, LoL and the other one are all just the same big boring game.

Well, yeah, MOBAs are similar, that's why they're all called MOBAs.
That doesn't answer my question though.

I was scared off of Dota 1 when I first played with my friend and got wrecked over and over.

But a couple months ago I spectated a game my friends were playing out of boredom, with the free spectator client, and it changed my view somewhat. First off, the presentation of the game is fantastic. It's pretty and well designed. Probably the main factor for me though was that my friends were playing it and I would have people to help teach me the game and to play with. I don't really play solo (except when I was learning the mechanics) because the game is highly teamwork oriented, and dealing with idiots you get matched with can sometimes be frustrating.

As far as the game itself, it's really not boring at all. And I should know boring games.

Ask anyone I play with, I get both angry and excited when I play this game. Everyone does, especially in a close match. It's a high energy game. And getting kills can be so, so satisfying. Much more satisfying than any other kills I get in online multiplayer games (except perhaps some cases in arma).

I'm curious as to what part of it you think looks boring. The only downside to the game is the tough learning curve for beginners, but that has nothing to do with being boring. I was sweating bullets in my first match vs. human players.
