Talking to Engadget, Valve's Jeri Ellsworth has revealed that the Valve hardware team has a one-year goal of making some sort of device to go hand-in-hand with the Steam Big Picture Mode and help PC gamers play from their couches. While Valve are still experimenting with different hardware and no ideas of off the table this does mean Valve's patented controller with swappable parts may see the light of day. Wearable computing is projected to be "two to five years" (Valve Time) down the line for consumers so we'll probably be seeing a new controller from Valve before we see any kind of augmented reality.
