Valve, I love you.

Gabe needs a hug from all he has been through. hl2.net community hugs gabe.

:D Thank you Valve!

I'm finally excited for this game again, after all of the disappointments of the past 1.5 years.
It looks like this really might turn out to be as awesome as promised!

I bet all you people that downloaded the Stolen build feel pretty sh*tty right now huh?

/Guilt free as didn't download it.

"Then people started using the game to compose their own screenshots of Dr. Kleiner performing [oral sex] on Alyx. It's basically your worst nightmare." -Gabe Newell

I remember seeing that screenshot, pretty funny.

Why would they? the iinitial theft is the main effect.

Edit: I don't feel like shit.

i WUV valve :cheese: and i havent even went close to the stolen build :afro:  and thats why i bought 2 copies of hl2.(retail and steam sale) cuase they diserve it. Lets hear it for valve!! HIP-HIP... (you continue the rest :p )

Wow. I agree. That article while having an extremely Pro-VALVe bias did make a lot of the occurances clearer to me. I know that VALVe lied, but I truly think VALVe has learned their leason and won't try pulling anything even close to Sept. 30th again. I'm convinced that any company other than VALVe would STILL be working on the game today.

When you think about it, its really amazing that we will have the game in our hands on Tuesday and will probably all be screaming "OMG HL2 R0X0RS T3H B1G 0N3111!" I for one am glad that VALVe poured so much into this game and I believe it will show when we play it.

So congratulations VALVe and please take some time off guys! The article said you essentially spent 2 years in crunch mode. Go on vacation or have a big party or something! If you guys all go insane from burnout then who will make HL3?

valve deserves all of our praise...

now relax, kick back, and let the money flow in! have fun for the next year or so...

THEN MAKE HL3

I really wish there were a way I could truly say thanks. You cant help but respect them a ton more after reading that article.

I feel the same way. I wish there was a way that I could know they were reading this.

Because if they are, I just really want to apologize. For so long I defended them in the wake of people badmouthing them, but I too lost my nerve with all the delays around August.

It's difficult for us fans, because all we really knew was about the delays and the broken promises. We never knew the reasons and what was going on behind the scenes. But now that we do, it sheds a whole new light on VALVe. I feel awful for ever doubting them or ever feeling negativity towards them.

So, VALVe, I apologize. I'm sorry for any ill-will felt against you. And thank you, thank you so much.

We really, truly do appreciate it.

I agree, that article was excellent. I read every word.

I wish there was a way I could truly slap all of you. Wait till a year from now, you will want to slap yourselves. Shame on you.

Go Vave!

Troubles seem to follow HL2 to the very end though. A few threads above this are people mad about how they can't play HL2 because a stupid retailer sold the game early =O.

Why will we want to slap ourselves?

I agree that the Gamespot article was very well written, and answered a lot of my questions about whether the leak was the only reason for the delay.... But, I have never waivered in my support for VALVe, I knew that they would only release a great game, and would not settle for mediocre. If we had more game companies like VALVe, we would have less great ideas turn into crap games (anyone else disappointed in DEUS EX 2??).

For goodness sake, they're a company who write computer games - why all the soppy love letters?

I always trusted that they would bring us one of the (if not The) best pc games ever.

I never stopt supporting them even after the delay and stuff. Hell, I even received two posters for my work here in Belgium :p

Ta valve

Many many software companys would do well to learn from your example, your mistakes, and your success. My warmest regards to you all. Even the totally fux0red scann0r!

Cheers valve dudes! Make loads of babies, ehh games!

<3 Valve... Spent about half of my life playing there games so i guess i owe them something.

Yeah, after reading "The Final Hours" article on gamespot I am super hyped about playing HL2 again.
It has been worth the wait...now the end is in sight.

thank you Valve.

Ahhh... Isnt it great we get a happy ending? (gabe on a horse riding to the sunset)
