Valve wants to release early

The german Half-Life 2 site Planet HL2 Community have a news update saying Half-Life 2 will be released November 12th 2003. So far I haven't heard anything else about it, so I can't confirm the date. Thanks Leigh for all this.
Now, I don't know any german, so I would be glad if somebody could translate the text to english. If you have translated it or know if this is true or not, please post a comment!

I got a mail from cpt.oneeye, the webmaster at Planet Hl2 Community about the release date and he said:

One of our members is in the USA for about 2 months, and he send me an email. There he said that valve promised to release the game on the 12th of november! The reason to this decision is that valve is afraid that too many gamers will download the leaked beta-version so they want to release hl2 soon as possible. Our member, who is in the USA, said he have heard that in the american media. The gamestore GameStop (one of the biggest gamestores there, what i have heard) has also confirmed this release. Let us hope, that this doesn't mean that this "early" release contains a lot of bugs.

Yeah, lets defiantly hope so!

Edit: GameStop has change their date to 11/11/03

Wow, valve says Nov 12, vivindi says April 2004. That's a pretty big gap.
