Soundwave said:Ok I just watched the videos, and wow. Just wow. I knew I'd be buying this game no matter what, but what I didn't know was that it is basically Morrowind on the Half-Life 2 engine. This game is going to be ****ing awesome, maybe even GOTY.
Llyranor said:Gah, why are people comparing this to Morrowind? This will have actual dialogue.
OCybrManO said:They are probably reminded of it by the open-ended gameplay and the similar sounds... but, IMO, it's closer to what the original Deus Ex (albeit, looking to be better in all aspects) would be if it were about vampires.

vampirebloodlines.com said:Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines multiplayer game pits players against each other in the ultimate team-based battle of Kindred versus Kine. Players choose which side to ally themselves with and which powers and weapons to take into battle. You will have various objectives that you need to accomplish while the other team tries to reach their own goals. All while you battle along the streets of L.A. Each multiplayer map blends intense combat action and strategy with maps that are linked together to create an unfolding storyline.
Team Types:
Join as one of the seven different Camarilla clans or become a member of The Society of Leopold, the legendary hunters of the undead.
As a vampire, you must utilize your innate Abilities and Disciplines to eliminate your foes. If you choose to be a member of The Society of Leopold, you'll be outfitted with an arsenal of deadly weaponry including stake guns, rifles and machine guns to hunt your prey. Along with this arsenal, you will have Numina (unique powers brought on by your faith) to help blance the scales.
Objective Scenarios:
With a variety of team-based mission objectives, you will have a unique playing experience every time. As you complete your objectives, you'll gain experience points that can be used to increase your powers and abilities or purchase better weaponry and armor.
OCybrManO said:The only problem I saw with Fat Larry was the clipping between his fat arms and his fat body. Other than that I didn't see any problems. His face had enough detail, the vertices around his mouth deformed well when he spoke, the animations were a bit flamboyant but not beyond believability for a person that talks like him, and the voice acting fit his quirky character. I'm 90% sure he's supposed to act like he does in those videos (maybe for a touch of comedy in an otherwise dark game or just to be weird). You probably just have different tastes.
lans said:I still think that the lip syncing in HL2 is far more realistic than what was shown in Vampires. Venus and Fat larry seemed to move their mouths in the same way - while HL2 characters are able to make weird lip expressions along with the talking. But then, valve are the daddy of the tech - so they obviously know how to use it better.
Neutrino said:I agree with you when looking at characters like the g-man, where they've put a lot of effort into the lip synching and facial animations. But when you watch the e32k4 vid the average NPC's seem to have a much simpler lip synch, more like that shown in the vampire vid.
lans said:aye, but the scene where alyx enters the scene in eli's lab showed it's also shows good lip synching happening in-game. Another example is that drunk dude in the apartment - his addicted face and sleepy looks look very convinicing. Then when he speaks - his mouth remains half-closed, as though he's mumbling rather than speaking.
