Hi everyone :)

Before all, i get start with saying something about our mod :).

The mod is a teambased game, the game got two teams (Humans, Vampire´s), each team have every to the map, a mission to complete.

Some example´s:
-Vampire hunt (VD)
Vampire have to flee from the city, Human got to hunt the VampireS out the village with some vehicle

-Human hunt (HD)
Humans should defend a area till to the sunrise with limited ammunition.

-last human standing (LHS)
Dont get bitten, otherwise you´ll get a vampire which you will help humans to exterminate

Thats only a small part of the game i presented. :frog: :p

We invented to each situation a thought out system. :cheese:
The only thing on that we still waiting are more Members and the hl 2 release :)
The first release will follow three months after hl2 came out. ( We hope so :) )


Members we still need:

* Mappers
* Modelers
* Coders (C++)
* PR Manager
* Animators
* Skinner
* Webmaster

Who is interested should have some references (pictures) of already done work.

hmmm...... the game types seem very modern, but yet I havn't seen any games or mods do them yet. I think you could be a bit more original with game types. They are many forms of vampire situations a good example of this is in anime:

Vampire Hunter D
Blood: The Last Vampire
Hellsing

I am not to sure what your concepts are, but vampires don't always have to be about bitting people and light. Why not take ideas from Hellsing with vampires and powers and minipulation. I dunno if I can really describ this very well but hopfully someone might be able to expand on what I have just said (I hope this helps you out)

Jeah sure ;), that was a small part of gametypes that were avaible. There are sure more Gametypes, but the 3 types are for sure ;).

Never sawn The Hunger but i have a look at it, maybe something gets covered in our mod :).
 
Not to be a buzz kill or anything...but Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines will probably be coming out 6 months or so after Half-Life 2 (or maybe even before? could be but I doubt it).

They are including a Multiplayer portion, which they've already outlined (I think it was a GameSpy preview) and it is very similar to the idea you've posted.

just FYI.

if this is true I would look into a different idea because Vampire Bloodline is proffesionally made, can't really see u competing against in popularity. But if your not bothered about popuarity go ahead :D
 
Indeed IchI, I've been following Bloodlines for over a year, this mod won't be able to compete with that game.

i mean that a different gametypes or not ? Vampire Bloodlines is rpg if im not false.
And i dont think that in the rpg game its avaible to hunt vampires in a town/village with vehicles, or our other gametype´s

privfUSiON, the SP part is RPG-FPS, the MP part will be action :) It'll be much like your game modes+different vampire skills etc.
 
World based drugs, sex, and money ;).. It musnt be a game be thats based on this year or in the future.. Make jobs to get money or fight against other people but in the most situation you got a whole clan agains you..


Buy new weapons at a place if you dont find them on places.

We could make the jobs client sided and a text "currently on job" on the server sided .dll so that lag wouldn´t be larger then else.
If you get killed, the stuff you got will be all lost when it doesnt picked up by the guy who killed you or you didnt put before in a chest or in a bank.

If you drink to much you have to find a toilet, when you do it outside the world and someone see´s you got problems with the police.

But i dont know if thats all possible, if we want 100-200 people models thats walking around and other guys doing some jobs, selling weapons and other things + 32 Multiplayers in a world it would increase the lag cause we couldnt make that stuff client sided.. FPS problems wouldnt exist cause we couldnt see over the whole map all models and stuff.

If you are to frustrated you have to do some fun (sex, beer), else you are walking slower and at a fight you arent so good then when you are not frustrated
Thats only a small idea maybe we can do something about it.
 
the more alcohol you drink, the more you´re screen gets after pulling. But you frustrated status gets low and other values too ;).
You need a place where you can sleep, maybe you can break into a house or find a small Lane with a Mattress where you can sleep. If you got enough money you can buy a house, there are 4-5 houses avaible for selling (no problems more with a sleep place, more social contact and fun cause you can invite some people).

I think the only problem is that lag are gets a little bit high when there over 100-200 people are in the map. I couldnt say if its get so much high cause the hl2 engine gots vehicles and a physik gun that we arent using.

But RPG isnt so good, for fun must their more then 30 people and a server over 30 people are then very expensive :rolleyes:
 
Your project seems way to ambitious.

Plus, you couldn't go for like over 30 NPCs in MP, it'd cause WAY too much lag, sorry.

I think you should go for a pretty simple offline RPG if you wanna do a RPG, btw, No-one will want to work for your mod if you don't have anything to contribute with yourself, such as coding, modeling.

Believe me I know, I tried :)
 
yeah, Overlords isn't doing that great either...team member wise anyways.

It is amazing how much of a catch 22 it is, trying to get team members.
People will only be interested if you have something to show for your mod (models + concept art are the biggies) but if you can't do those things yourself then people who CAN do that stuff won't join!
 
Can't make it in any industry as just an ideas man. I know I've always been scared to start my own project merely on the basis that I can't program, and really it's the programmer that dictates what your mod can and cannot do.

I like the idea of a vampire mod, but definatly go with something more original. The whole find somewhere to sleep rpg does not sound very appealing.
 
privfUSiON your gang land idea is way to ambitious and I don't really think there is an games engine that could handle that much information at once that has an SDK anyway.

Why not thinking along other lines. I know people might complain about what I am about to say but if you udnerstand me you shouldn't:

Make a game like CS, no I don't mean make a mod with all these ak47's and planting the bomb, but CS is mainly so big because it can be played 2 ways. One is public games and the other is organised clan matches. If you can put both of these attributes into a game then make it as competative as possible and make learning new skills and tactics fun you will definatly have a winning game. Its very hard to do though and I really do think the CS team where lucky with beta 1.0 because the other versions pritty much sucked. Then it obviasly became the most popular game in the world and proberly has the lowest budget ever :D also they made no money out of it at all except all the people buying 5 pound versions of hl1 to play it :p

[edit] if you are wanting to take me up on my idea and you can prove to me that you have some skills in the leading and writing department (hopfully some others as well) then I might help out.
