When I played we didn't have cars to drive in or animals to ride on. I had never seen anyone with a droid. It was pretty dull and boring.

Id have to disagree there.... there are alot of very neat aspects to SWG....

such as the artisans and entertainers.

can i just bring back the wow stuf for a moment here, but im not going to comment on SWG... so therefore its not a SWG vs. WOW post its jusp a WOW post...

anyway, the things i like about WOW is that firstly, when you die you turn into a ghost at the nearest graveyard, and while this is happening you see the world differently and can only see/ communicate with other ghosts. You must run from the graveyard back to your corpse, and this is the only punishment. but to stop you going in areas that you shouldnt, there are ghost monsters that can kill you, like in the entrances to Dungeons . apart from that you can go anywhere, but you can only see players and enemies near your corpse. Of course you can get revived in this time by another player.

Also i like the fact that there are so many "trade skills." these count as secondary skills, which can be learnt by any player in addition to their class skills (like a warrior's abilities and a mage's magic). The trade skills include a few rescource gathering skills, like herbalist and miner, plus loads of crafting skills like blacksmith, potion maker and cook etc. there are 14 in total. Plus there is fishing, and you can find boots in the water as well as other crappy items!!! and fish, of course. :|

plus to avoid stealing other peoples kills, there is a system much like SWG. and also the Dungeons have private areas for groups only, so that n00bs wont come in and get to see the big, scary monsters and / or get some EXP.

I also like the way you get around... as a secondary skill you can learn to ride a mount when you are level 40, these are different for each race. Plus to get around you can pay to get flown between the cities by air mounts (which there are four of). while doing so you are deliberately shown secret locations and hidden things... that you can come back to when you are of higher level.

BTW dont get angry with me if i have said stuff that has been mentioned in loads of other games because the only MMORPG i have ever played is SWG, and i thought the player evolution was great but the quests and locations were poo. im still plying it

hmm, most of the stuff you mentioned about being in WoW is already in SWG or is on the way. i've only been playing SWG for a few days but i've managed to get to a great depth. my only gripe would be that it's so easy to become a master artisan (although i can't buy any diggers/mining equipment since i can only amass 50k credits :/ [i'm on the free trial])

apart from that, this video is damn hilarious. i saw it on the SWG forums earlier...even star wars nerds have a sense of humour!
