Verification

Hi everyone.

I installed HL2 on Thursday. Works great.,

Problem is, it keeps verifying. As you probably know, verification takes about 10 - 20 mins. And it makes playing offline impossible. Any idea why it is doing this?

I've got the DVD edition.

Yeah I have got the same problem. About every second time I start the game it starts validation my files, although I haven't changed anything. What is this crap? :angry: I just want to play a bit, and then I have to wait 10 mins or so...
Is this some kind of copy protection or what? Or is Steam looking for possible updates to my files? I just don't get it...
I got the UK DVD Version if that is of interest...

Little bit of help for you two if you look through the threads listed under Help and Support I think you will find how to solve this problem.

I seem to remember you have to delete a Blob file then reload again, anyway pop over and check it out. Not solved your problem but at least you know where to look to solve this.
