Anyone playing Victoria here? It's great fun indeed, I usually play LAN very much and I just can't get enough.

Here is the game if you care, but be aware, the review sucks: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/victoria/index.html

Right now I play as Greece, but I have Ottoman Empire bordering my country, so I must have a good relationship with them or I will get owned by his massive army. :)

I took this picture last year when I was playing as Prussia, I invaded Russia and took plenty of areas. I had Austria (my brother played as those) helping my out though, he took some areas too.
Russia didn't have a big army when we first attacked him, but later on when we had taken area after area, we saw two 350 000 big army marching over to crush us. My bro (that chicken!) did get a peace with Russia, a good peace, but I was in the war still, and my army got killed pretty fast. I did get to borrow some of my bros divisions so I could fight back, but they died pretty fast because the supplies were critical.
But Russia sent a peace demand, and I accepted it.

Here's a picture when I accepted peace with Russia (sorry for the bad quality, but it won’t let it be bigger than 100k). :)

As you can see, I just have a handful of armies left, everyone else got killed by the mighty Russians. :)

I never heard of it. Can you tell me the price and where to get it?

The price I guess is around $20-$35, maybe you can find it in your local store?

I am saving up for UT and Far Cry. Time to fire up IRC.

You're welcome. :)

Just be sure that if you buy the game and want to play as Russia, you better have a huge army protecting the borders between every other country.

Ottoman Empire (mostly them), Austria, United Kingdom and Prussia usually declare war upon Russia many times. So be aware! :)

I was joking. ;( ;(Are there any demos?

Don't think so, they usually don't release demos on such games. :(

But I can look for ye.

Thanks. It looks interesting, but my 13 year old budget allows for 2 games.

Damn, I have searched for a demo now, but haven’t found any. So I asked my brother if there was a demo of the game. He said that he had searched for a demo many times but didn't find a single one. Sorry. ;(

Oh man... Thanks anyway. That was very nice of you. Are you off from school aswell?

Yep, a whole week. :)

Does the game acctually have the battles animated..?

I've played strategy games where you acctually see the battles going on in full 3D etc, lovely, does this game feature that?

looks like Risk or the Shogun/Medieval: Total war series. might check it out, looks very interesting.

You mean like in Total War? No, it doesn’t, but you can actually see the table of your own army and the enemy’s army like moral, strength, firepower and shock attack etc. you see also how many men you have left in the divisions.

One division contains of 10 000 soldiers, you can create also Guard Brigade, Artillery Brigade etc. and they contain of 12 000 soldiers. They fight better than the regular ones, but they cost much more.

You can have Generals and Admirals in the game too, and they of course increase the moral heavily so they fight much more efficiently.

Here are some pictures where you can see the table of the armies.
