Viewing hl2sp levels in hammer

According to the steam announcement I should be able to view the hl2 map files in hammer. Where are these files placed please?

no, you can't. you must've misunderstood what it said. there was no update to let you view those maps and there never will be

I thought it ment the same thing when I first read it. It should say "have the ability to make your own levels."

there are programs you can view bsps without playing hl2

ok thanks. I am aware of the 3rd party progs to view bsps but it reads as if you can view valves vmfs. Oh well.

Would have been a fantastic insight on level and entity design/work.
