Virus Problem

Hey there!! im under the impression that i have a virus!

Every time i open Norton Antivirus f.x.. It closes down automatically after 5 seconds..
The same thing with Microsoft Security patches... What can i do?? and what should i do?? thanks.

Hmm u could invite me over to fix it although you must sign a contract stating:
You will not do anything if your computer goes missing.
You will not do anything if your house "Somehow" gets stold to me for free.
You will not do anything if i charge u 100,000 an hour and if you dont pay i get everything you own.

Otherwize i dont know....id suggest saving whatever u want onto a disk. and reformat...Or press ctrl alt delete and end task anything that shouldnt be running. Then try running the patchs. (also save whatever u want back onto a disk) Go in Dos and type fdisk press delete your hard drive from dos's memory...then reinstalling your harddrive back into dos's memory
(MAY POSSIBLY DAMAGE HARD DRIVE meaning it MIGHT make it slower, ive done it about 5 times on my other comp....I think thats why its all screwed to hell).
Then all you do is continue as if your were reformatting. I dont really recommend this.....but its pretty much the best and most unsafe way to clean your hard drive.

I think reformatting is jumping the gun a little in this case, keep that as a plan W. I'm not sure what the dos info has to do with this.

In the mean time, What OS are you running? If you can try to boot into safe mode to start up nortons. If you run into the same problem then try uninstalling nortons and reinstalling it while in safe mode. It may just need a clean install of it.

If that doesn't work try getting an alternate virus scanner, there are some free ones you can find on http://www.download.com.

There's always a chance it's spyware, which case you could get spyboy or adaware. (you can find them both on download.com)

If you still can't get it fixed, if you have an alternate drive, you can install a quick OS on it independent of the other system. Then set the alternate drive as the master and the main one as the slave, and install the anti-virus on the new OS and run as scan on the other drive.

If these things don't work, what OS are you using? What other problems are you having aside from nortons not running? What are the rest of your system specs?

I mean you really shouldn't have to ever reformat, worse case scenario you'll have to blow away the old windows and reinstall the operating system, pain in the ass, but you keep all your pictures, music, and old games, just have to re-set up all your hardware and active software.

(The DOS thing is a full proof way to erase ANYTHING and EVERTHING that could even remotly exist on your hard drive. Every little peace of information is deleted. It deletes it from "Dos" itself. Fdisk can also be used to create multiple hard drives with 1. You can just create 2 partions using 50% each. Or how many ever as long as the % is = to 100% when added up. Its pretty nifty. It saved me when i reformatted 1 time i only had 2 gigs out of ee a ton....i reformatted again 2 gigs still....so i used fdisk and redid my hard drive and got my total back up to whatever it was. I think it was like 14 gigs (old comp).

Not the best... 2 Trilobytes best... see www.go-l.com computers. They dont exactly use a "Hard Drive" but a more efficent way and faster way for getting information and saving it. although to get the computer at full quality ya kinda need... 8 thousand dollors lol.

I mean when u can pull 700fps on quake 3 in 1152 x 864 resolution. Its a pretty damn nice comp, its called the Machl 3.8 although the Machl 4.0 and Machl 4.0 64bit edition are coming out soon. I wonder how much they will cost lol. I cant waittt to get enough money to get 1.....Cuz they prob wont be outdated for a while .

Most people are of the opinion that Go-I is a sham. Anyone who tries to get in touch with them about buying a computer never gets a response. A pretty convincing website though, and it would be awesome if they really existed.

Just read a lot of people talking about how it's totally fake.

EDIT: Though i just read some people confirming it to be real, so now I have no idea.

Go-I im talking about Go-L.
I have heard it to be a fake....but the website seems a bit more proish to be a fake one. Ne ways all i have to say is pc's will always rule mac's. Apple shall fall. Microsoft shall decide to make a great insane OS and dominate. DOWN WITH APPLE!!!!
(I dont like apple computers, they suck and apples arnt nearly as good as pies)

Overall the Go-L comps at least are nice to look at, i think they should be real and if they are then the people who call em fakes are the mac lovers. The G5 may be able to pull 300fps on the quake 3 demo (The best one there which u can only pull 300fps is 3000 dollors.). Well screw u apple weve out done u with 700 fps on quake 3. EAT THAT!!! With our newer 64bit computers were gonna rock your world.

Terabyte = Next step up, in terms of storage capacity, from a gigabyte.


A computer with a pair of trilobites inside wouldn't work very well...
